We are seeking an ESG Expert for Workers in the Value Chain (ESRS S2) to develop and implement strategies that enhance the social aspects of sustainability, ensuring alignment with the EU Green Deal and European/Global sustainability standards.

Job Summary:

The ESG Expert for Workers in the Value Chain (ESRS S2) will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that ensure the well-being, fair treatment, and ethical management of workers throughout the value chain. This role requires a deep understanding of social sustainability standards and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to promote a positive impact on workers' rights and conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

ESG Projects:

- Develop and implement ESG strategies focused on improving the conditions and rights of workers throughout the value chain, in alignment with the EU Green Deal and European sustainability standards such as ESRS and CSRD.

- Conduct ESG assessments and audits to identify risks and opportunities related to workers in the value chain.

- Monitor and report on ESG performance regarding labor practices, ensuring transparency and compliance with relevant frameworks and standards.

- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate social sustainability considerations into business operations and decision-making processes.

Sustainability Assessments:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of current labor practices to identify areas for improvement and enhance sustainability performance.

- Monitor and analyze KPIs related to ESG metrics for labor conditions and workers' rights.

Collaboration and Integration:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, and human resources, to integrate ESG and social sustainability principles into business operations.

- Work with external partners, suppliers, and certification bodies to advance ESG goals and certifications related to workers in the value chain.

Reporting and Compliance:

- Lead the preparation and submission of ESG and sustainability reports, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

- Stay updated on emerging trends, best practices, and regulations in sustainability reporting and labor governance practices.

Training and Development:

- Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on sustainability and labor practices.

- Support the development of corporate sustainability goals and initiatives, aligning with organizational objectives and industry benchmarks.

Continuous Improvement:

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize resource use and labor conditions across all business operations.

Industry Engagement:

- Contribute insights and participate in the creation of publications, including White Papers, Position Papers, and Sector Papers.

Consultancy Services:

- Offer consultancy services to internal and external stakeholders on sustainability initiatives and labor practices.

Business Conduct:

- Promote a strong corporate culture that prioritizes ethical labor practices.

- Implement and oversee protection measures for whistle-blowers in relation to labor practices.

- Develop and enforce policies related to workers' rights and conditions.

- Manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring fair labor practices and payment conditions.

- Develop and implement strategies to prevent and detect unethical labor practices, including conducting training programs.

- Investigate and report incidents related to unethical labor practices.

Qualifications:

Education:

- Bachelor's or master's degree in Environment Engineering, Sustainability, ESG, Social Sciences, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.

Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in sustainability reporting and labor practices within the corporate sector.

Knowledge:

- In-depth knowledge of European sustainability standards and frameworks such as ESRS, CSRD, and expertise in ESG strategies and reporting.

Skills:

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex data and identify opportunities for improvement.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Certifications:

- Certification in sustainability or labor governance is advantageous.
