As a Data Scientist at Emeritus, you will be working on a wide variety of data problems from student retention models to predictive lead scores. At this fast-growing company, you will frequently have to balance achieving an immediate goal with scalability. The ideal candidate is excited to use their knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning to go past analysis and provide leaders solutions and predictions that drive better decision making.

Responsibilities:

- Explore datasets, looking for actionable insights

- Engineer features, train models, tune hyperparameters and evaluate the results

- Build rigorous ML/AI solutions at production level that decrease manual effort, improve forecasting, optimize marketing spend and better the student experience

- Work with others in the business to uncover new opportunities to apply data science

Qualifications/Skillsets:

- Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms

- Strong Python programming and exploratory data analysis skills

- Experience working in a distributed computing environment and relational databases

- Familiarity with common data science toolkits and data management tools

- Ability to work independently and with team members from different backgrounds, including non-technical

- At least a bachelor's degree in an analytical or technical field. This could be applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, operations research, economics, etc. Higher education is welcome and encouraged.

- 4+ years of work in data science

- Superior interpersonal, presentation, storytelling, independent judgment, complex problem-solving skills

- Global orientation, experience working across countries, regions, and time zones
