Environment & Social Manager - Logistics/Infraprojects

A fast growing logistics & Infraprojects Company is seeking to recruit an Environmental and Social (- E&S- ) Manager in the context of: (i) an evolving business strategy and an increasing focus on E&S responsibility; (ii) the need to proactively manage E&S performance at existing Inland Container Depots (- ICDs- ) in Kanpur, Ludhiana and Patna; and (iii) the value of greater consistency and coherence in the application of E&S standards and practices across the expanding operations of the company, including at the Mega Food Park in Bihar.

The E&S Manager will be responsible for overseeing the environmental, social and health and safety performance of the Company, reporting to the CEO. The E&S Manager will examine corporate and operational activities to establish where improvements can be made to achieve compliance with national and international environmental, social and health and safety standards across the Company. The candidate will set up andlead the implementation of the Company's integrated environmental and social management system (- ESMS- ) and provide guidance and support to Pristine staff at each ICD to operate the ESMS in accordance with international standards (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, SA8000) and aligned with corporate requirements.

Role and Duties

Guiding evolving business strategy and assumptions

- Screening and providing early guidance and feedback on E&S issues associated with potential new ICDs.

- Shaping business strategy in terms of E&S policy and implementing the Company ESMS and the E&S Action Plan

- Providing input and guidance on the terms of reference for Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), E&S Audits and other documents that may be required as part of development projects.

Proactive management of the existing portfolio of ICDs

- Reporting and monitoring of E&S issues to ESG Subcommittee, the broader Company and external stakeholders as needed.

- Providing primary contact point for investors who have interests in E&S aspects of the Company, coordinating and ensuring consistency in the deliveryof monitoring reports to investors.

- Support environmental health and safety (EHS) staff at individual ICDs to implement the ESMS.

- Delivery and oversight of action plans that may have been agreed with investors and other Lenders (i.e. project finance for future developments).

Skills and Experience

The E&S Manager will be expected to have significant experience in:

- E&S aspects of transport and logistics.

- The requirements of international E&S standards: ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and SA8000.

- Ability to travel to project sites at short notice

Reporting to - The E&S Manager will report to the CEO and support the work and targets of the ESG subcommittee.
