Environment/Health & Safety Lead - IT

Job Description

Title: Environment, Health and Safety Lead, Client’s India.

This position is expected to provide leadership on EH&S matters for Client’s India workplace. The person is expected to lead implementation of Environmental, health and Safety management system and focused program on EH&S. This position is at corporate level and based out of Bangalore and requires extensive coordination with various functions like workplace, Global Asset protection, HR policies, HR operations, Legal, Marketing and Communication & global team on environment, health & safety team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- To lead and ensure smooth running of EH&S initiatives- Wellness operations , Ambulances services, health awareness sessions, health camps etc through third party service providers across all facilities Pan India

- To lead implementation & sustenance of EOH&S ( Environmental & health Safety Management system) across India – OHSAS 18001 OHSM & ISO 14001 EMS

- Frontend internal and external audits on OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001 including various clients audits on EOHS

- To streamline policies and procedures to ensure smooth handling of medical emergency cases by the workplace team and by wellness operation staff

- To liaison and coordinate with hospitals and doctors for handling of medical emergency cases including Pandemic situations

- Implement and lead initiatives on employees wellbeing to generate awareness on health and wellbeing among employees

- Drive initiatives on women safety involving various functions- Workplace, HR, transport team etc

- Ensure EHS compliance across all locations and publish matrix to management

- Develop and implement process for tracking regulatory compliances across managed locations.

- Be the central point of coordination for all environmental related matters and involve various stake holders to drive environment agenda for Client’s India.

- Review EHS Incident Investigations and assure corrective actions are taken by team which minimize or prevent similar future incidents;

- To work with the workplace team to ensure that all our facilities are PWD friendly and as per Client’s design intend for PWDs.

Skill Set & Experience Required:-

- BE/Msc in environmental science with experience in EHS management system at a corporate level

- Minimum of 8 yrs to 10 yrs of experience in large set up or MNC

- Implementation knowledge on ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001

- Diploma in Industrial safety is preferred

- Good understanding of EH&S related regulations.

- Excellent written and spoken communication skill

- Ability to multi-task and efficiently track implementation at remote locations through identified SPOC’s

- Program management skills

- Makes appropriate decisions and demonstrates sound judgment
