Position Summary:
Enterprise Architect performs EA duties specifically related to application and technology portfolio management and rationalization. Additionally EA is responsible for stewardship of the standards management and reference architecture management processes.
This person Performs the necessary leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks related to the development of an enterprise technical architecture (ETA).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Detailed Description)
This EA will be required to:
Provides technology/architecture recommendations based on business relevance, appropriate timing and deployment.
Analyze enterprise business context (trends and business strategy) to derive technical architecture.
Analyze technology industry and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise.
Oversee or consult on technical architecture (for example, systems) implementation and modification activities (for example, projects), particularly for new and/or shared infrastructure solutions.
Oversee and facilitate the evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards.
Document necessary technical architecture design and analysis work, possibly including project postmortem documentation and metric collection.
Understand, advocate and augment the principles of business and IT and more specifically enterprise architecture (EA) strategies.
Ensure that plans for improvement are aligned to EA strategy and are managed using EAs capability-based management framework.
Education & Special Trainings:
A BS in Computer Science or the equivalent is required.
Qualifications & Experience:
10+ years of experience in at least two IT disciplines in a client/server or service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment, including technical architecture, network design, application development, middleware, servers and storage, database management, and operations.
Understanding of SOA and object-oriented analysis and design.
Strong technical knowledge and know-how around the following:
Big Data (Hadoop stack), IoT
Cloud services and governance (Azure and IBM SL)
MW technologies like Oracle SOA Suite
BI Reporting and Visualization technologies like PowerBI
ERP Systems like Oracle EBS and SAP S/4 for HANA
Salesforce.com
Experience with at least one EA Frameworks/Methodologies like TOGAF/Zachman.
Understanding and awareness of latest trends in technologies is also required.
Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments.
Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems.
Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
Ability to estimate the financial impact of technical architecture alternatives.
Exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
Understanding of EAs role and possibilities in the current enterprise is also required.
