Engineering Manager - IIT/NIT/BITS - Online/Internet

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Own end to end development and operations of high performance web and mobile applications. Architecting and scaling engineering platform to reduce technical debts and improve performance and agility.

- Foster culture of innovation and fast execution, leading by example and hands-on execution. Build best in class a platform for online lending marketplace model.

- Interface with business to define requirements, deliverables, and provide the necessary engineering expertise & support to ensure on-time delivery of product

- Continue to develop and improve delivery processes. Commit to fostering a quality focused development culture while leading managing a team of engineers, including hiring, developing, training and retaining a best in class team

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Bachelors or Master's in Engineering (Computer Science preferred) from IIT, NITs or BITS.

- Have 8+ year work ex in Tech Product Development and leading Tech teams.

- Prior experience with tech startups is preferred.

- Should be a hands-on leader and have eye for details and scale. Ability to Multi-Task in an ambiguous and very dynamic start-up environment. Should have excellent prioritization and project management skills

- Sound knowledge and experience working in a variety of agile Web frameworks and project tools (e.g. Atlassian, git). Expert knowledge of languages (Python etc.) web technologies (e.g. JavaScript, CSS, HTML) and Mobile App Development(Hybrid/Android/iOS).

- Ability and willingness to adapt new technology as the need arises

- Must have experience in developing applications using multiple stacks. Must have experienced scale in building web applications and SOA (micro services) based large scale setups

- Proven experience in architecture, design and delivery of data intensive applications.

Experience with modern web UI frameworks (e.g. Angular)

- Experience leading a QA / testing function and developing automation techniques to improve ongoing quality of delivery

- Experience of building high throughput, low latency web-services

- Expert level knowledge of Data stores from RDBMS to NoSQL (MySQL, Postgresql, MongoDB) and expertise in Linux.

- Preferred experience with AWS stack and production ops/dev ops.

- Strong experience of software development lifecycle and engineering processes

- Understanding of data engineering and machine learning is a big plus.
