Engineering Manager - AI Startup

Our client is a Pune-based well-funded AI start-up. The company is building a SaaS based AI-powered revenue optimization platform for eCommerce brands.

Position: Engineering Manager

Experience: 10-15 years

Location: Anudh, Pune (Hybrid)

Reporting to: CTO

Position Overview:

The Engineering Manager will be hands-on technocrat driving the engineering teams of a new category-creating and ground-breaking product in the Data Analytics space. You will contribute to the codebase, working closely with developers to build and maintain robust applications using Node.js, Python, SQL and other technologies as needed. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up the execution strategy for product features, managing the day-to-day operations of the engineering team, mentoring engineers, all towards owning the products that has highest quality for our customers.

Required Experience and Skills:

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development roles, in addition to, at least 3 years of experience in a technical leadership position.

- Experienced with creating modern user interface for responsive (Web/Mobile App) SaaS applications with a dynamic front end, REST APIs for use by multiple simultaneous client accounts (multi-tenant)

- Proficiency in Node.js and Python, with a strong understanding of their respective frameworks and libraries.

- Solid experience in building and maintaining scalable and high-performance SaaS applications, including data pipelines.

- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, code review processes, and tools for enforcing code quality and consistency.

- Expertise with platform tools (build, test automation, test case management, CI/CD, feature flags, operational metrics) to rapidly build applications at scale, to maintain high quality, availability, reliability and performance

- Strong understanding of testing and observability to ensure that operations of the entire application stack are automated, to ensure comprehensive testing of the application & monitoring of overall metrics

- Work in global teams, across time zones and be ready to support customer deployments of software you create

- Enjoy writing good quality code, with best practices for design documentation

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with React development, including best practices on charting (HighCharts)

- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

- Experience with Unit and Integration Testing frameworks like Zephyr

- Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.

- Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts
