We are hiring for the below role with our client into Retail/ Ecommerce Industry.
Role: Engineering Lead
Experience: 15-22 years
The Engineering Lead - Backend will be responsible for implementing and enhancing the fulfillment system and building new enterprise retail components on it. Will also be responsible for the following.
- Conducting technical feasibility and driving agreement on requirements raised by Product Management.
- Developing a roadmap for implementation and rollout of applications or solutions on the Sterling and/or 3rd party product stack.
- Driving the technology strategy that is aligned with Sterling OMS & WMS product strategy and roadmap.
- Evaluate applications, vendors or technologies that would be required to build the applications needed to support the business operations.
- Develop micro-services based architecture and solution on the Enterprise area covering Retail.
- Managing the technical team that will implement and support the application.
- Manage the implementation of solutions/applications by external vendors and system integrators.
- Define quality metrics and ensure that the quality metrics are adhered to .
- Ensure delivering SLAs are defined and adhered to.
- Ensure application readiness and availability as needed by future state.
The Principal Architect will also be part of the Architecture board that drives the technology decisions, as well as application roadmap and strategy.
Will be reporting to the Vice-President Engineering.
Key Accountabilities:
The Principal Architect will be accountable for the following applications
1. Order Management System (IBM Sterling)
2. Warehouse Management System (IBM Sterling)
3. Transportation Management System (3rd Party Vendor Application)
4. Field Operations (Warehouse., Last mile delivery and Pick up points) Applications
5. Enterprise Applications and Central micro-services platform
Qualifications:
- A qualified candidate should have at least four years of experience in building and deploying service based / micro-services architecture.
- He should at least have ten years of experience implementing and handling IBM Sterling Order Management and Warehouse Management systems in a retail environment.
- He/she should have more than 15 years of total relevant experience in the industry. Experience with SAP ERP implementation or integration will be a plus.
- Candidate should have good knowledge of fulfillment & warehouse business processes and should be able to map them to capabilities offered by Sterling product stack.
- The candidate should have extremely good communication skills and should be able to negotiate on requirements with the business and product management teams. Should be able to negotiate with external vendors/system integrators.

Desirable Skills:
1.Exposure to transportation management systems
2.API Gateway like Kong or Ambassador.
