Job Description : Engagement Leader (Finance & Accounts)

Job Details :
- The role is responsible for handling controllership & critical F&A activities, managing multiple clients from different industry sectors.
- The role requires leading a team of accounting/ finance professionals, identifying gaps in current accounting & financial processes, and building robust SOPs.
- It also involves constant interaction with Head of Finance, Promoters/ Founders to address important areas and working with department heads to help improve business efficiency and measure business performance.
External Interfaces & Internal Interfaces :

- Auditors & Bankers
- Contractors
- Regulatory Authorities (if needed) - Head of Finance, Business Heads/ Promoters and addressing important areas.
- Support (HR, IT, Administration, Facilities)
- Other relevant teams of the organization
Job Requirements :
Education - CA
Relevant Experience :
- 5-7 years of relevant experience on controllership roles
- Preferably someone with a previous experience in start-ups, SMES & MSMEs

Knowledge :
- GAAP Accounting
- Inventory tie, Depreciation, Fixed assets, Lease Accounting, Group Reporting & Consolidation
- IT initiatives including ERP implementation
- Statutory compliances
Roles & Responsibilities :
Budget Planning, Strategy Formulation & Treasury :
1. Support in creation of long term & short-term forecast
2. Ensure creation & adherence to budget across the organization
3. Creation & Adherence to Monthly Cash flow plans
4. Managing relationships with banks (negotiating credit limits, rate of interest, transaction costs etc.)
Operational Excellence :
1. Review critical accounting activities like accruals, provisions, reconciliation, treasury activities, store controllership & processing.
2. Review & update SOPs at regular intervals; maintain & ensure periodic updation of the knowledge base
3. Ensure the team is following consistent accounting standards in complete accordance with the accounting policies - aligning with IFRS and GAAP.
4. Own and manage chart of accounts.
5. Act as a change agent; Identify and deliver process excellence and continuous improvement programs with focus on operational activities related to accounting.
Stakeholder Management :
1. Develop and maintain strong proactive relationships with Stakeholders, Head of Finance and internal stakeholder to ensure coordination & timely and accurate accounting book close.
2. Nurture ecosystem partnerships with the stakeholders (vendors, auditors, authorities etc.) for better coordination on monthly Book Close.
Governance & Compliance :
1. Ensure pro-active input into preventative actions to address key business risks; Manage issues to mitigate impact and risk by early detection & involvement
People Management :
1. This is a team management role, and the resource will have to work collaboratively with all the team members, to manage day to day activities.
2. He would be responsible for reviewing their performances & addressing their grievances.
