Position- Employee Relations Specialist

Reporting to- Dual reporting, i.e India and Global

Our client is an US MNC listed in NYSE

Job Responsibilities :

- The Sr. HR Advisor (can change to ER if more applicable in market) works closely with employees, managers and HR Business Partners on Employee Relations for Ahmedabad.

- In addition to Employee Relations, this role will coach local leadership on performance management concerns.

- This role will report to the Sr. Employee Relations Manager, Global Employee Relations located in the United States.

- The role will set the performance management practices for the location taking into consideration local culture, legal landscape, historical practices, and global philosophies set by Global Employee Relations team.

- This role will be expected to have the "on the ground" pulse of the organization partnering with the HR Business Partner to understand the local environment.

- This role will handle routine ER cases through complex ER cases involving formal investigations, policy violations, performance concerns and leadership level issues.

- The HR Advisor ensures fairness and consistency across the site and isn't aligned to one function. In addition to reactive work through Employee Relations, the HR Advisor is expected to proactively identify trends in the local office with possible solutions, training opportunities, and proactively identify compliance gaps.

- As part of the Global Employee Relations team, the HR Advisor will need to be able to execute on projects and have strong global collaboration skills.

- This location has several groups reporting to managers outside of the location, so this role will be a global role and need to be able to operate in a highly matrixed environment.

- As we are moving to a centralized Employee Relations model, this role will help implement this model locally and will need change management skills and strong partnerships with the local management and employee base.

On a day-to-day basis you will :

- Build strong relationships with the local employee and manager base to be seen as a trusted, neutral advisor

- Handle day to day employee relations from coaching managers on difficult employee conversations to performance management to dismissals

- Conduct employee voluntary exits

- Manage and resolve high level employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations

- Proactively identifies exit trends and solutions

- Has strong knowledge of local legal landscape and can advise on compliance gaps and future policy needs

- On policy needs identified, will own policy creation and implementation

- Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation

- Identify training needs for groups and individual coaching needs related to manager deficiencies on performance management.

- Provides management coaching and advice in the area of performance management

- Creates a strong partnership with HR Business Partner keeping them updated on concerns within their assigned groups

In exchange, you will bring:

- 5-7 years of HR experience, preferably in Employee Relations or HR Partnerships

- Global experience preferred

- Working knowledge of employment laws

- Exceptional relationship building skills in order to gain support and achieve results

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Excellent project management skills.

- Action orientation and comfort with very fast pace and rapid change

- Flexibility to interact with employees at all levels

- Self-directed and motivated

- Relevant industry experience a plus

- Ability to travel internationally on occasion
