The Program Manager will be a member of the Product/Tech team and will be the first point of contact between the Tech team and other people/departments who work in our Tech systems on a day-to-day basis. (S)he will act as a bridge and filter between the rest of the Product/Engineering team and other departments, such as Marketing and Delivery/Operations. When capacity allows, s(he) will take on small projects to improve our systems and/or support the Project Manager (Operational Projects) or other Product/Program managers with project execution. Key Responsibilities: - Build a deep understanding of how our Tech systems work, and stay up-to-date on all improvements / new features - Improve and maintain user-targeted documentation (how-to guides) on how our Tech systems work - Proactively communicate system updates that impact users - Train new users / new departments who are starting to work with our Tech systems - Manage the internal Service Desk: investigate and triage issues and requests that come in from other departments, solve them or ensure they are assigned to the right person (often engineering), ensure fast response time, and communicate clearly and proactively to all stakeholders - Build a solid understanding of how the key Tech systems interact with other systems used within our company, and use this knowledge to help resolve issues and requests - Act as a - line of defense- for our Engineering department to help ensure they only work on really business-critical issues that require their expertise - Identify themes/trends in tech-related issues and make improvement proposals. - Collaborate closely with the Course Launch Manager to ensure that the documentation, training, and communication related to the course launch process is seamlessly integrated with all other Tech-related documentation / training / communication - Manage small system improvement projects from requirements-gathering through execution, and/or support the execution of larger projects Qualifications - Technical background: extensive SQL capability, ability to analyse log files, basic HTML capability - Proven ability to bridge technical and non-technical; specifically, to address technical topics with non-technical stakeholders - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including ability to write clear and concise documentation in English - Proactive and action-oriented to solve problems that come up, and to anticipate and prevent other problems from emerging - Ability to organize and manage many tasks simultaneously - Collaborative mindset and team player - Flexible to work virtually and across time zones (including India, the U.S., and South America) Emeritus provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
