As per International Energy Agency, 1.4 billion people around the world lack access to basic electricity, of which 400 million are in India, 80% of them in rural areas.

Project Scope: EBI is in the process of setting up multiple solutions in various parts of India and Bangladesh. We are looking for energetic, forward looking, innovative, hands on MBAs to implement this innovative solution. The candidates will work with co-founders from Wharton, Harvard, MIT and Babson graduates to execute the solution at the ground level.

Candidate Must haves:

- 0-6 years of experience in rural channel set-up, sales & marketing, worked hands with farmers, deep knowledge of the communities and challenges

- Past rural business experience in:

Financial Services

Dairy/agro processing/biomass

Small scale electricity (Solar/Biomass/Biogas)

- Scale-up experience and have worked on for-profit companies

- Go-getter, positive attitude, worked with various stakeholders and appetite for growth

- Can speak Hindi

- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

- Have managed/led teams

- Knows to work on MS-office (word, excel and power point)

Responsibilities:

- Set-up India’s first installation by conducting market survey, Collect local knowledge on the energy consumption

- Vendor management, process mapping on the feed stock and supply chain optimization

- Customer segmentation and affordability for the services

- Customer identification, provide services and payment mechanisms

- Meet expansion timelines

- Stakeholder engagement – village panchayats, customers, farmers etc.

- Co-ordinate with NGO for farmer support

- Training of manpower and regular support

- Team hiring and management

- Reporting to the India and US offices

Preferable (not must):

- Engineer (mechanical or electrical)

- Understands dairy or agri or rural energy business
