JOB LOCATION: Kolkata

1. WORK ENVIRONMENT - The person will be part of R&I HPC-CCD and reports into Sr GM Product Development Head - HPC

2. JOB ROLE & INTERFACE MANAGEMENT:

- The Job description is for a position of Sr Manager Formulations, Group leader Skin care & Cleansing whose prime role would be Lead, supervise & train the R&D team in developing, identifying, and modifying new and existing formulations of Personal Care - Skin Care & Cleansing range of products & technologies for improved performance and cost optimization.

- Identify latest technology approaches in Personal care category to enhance formulation tool box and update the library of novel ingredients through regular interaction with suppliers.

- Partner with brand teams to understand key benefit spaces and deploy robust technologies aligned with consumer requirements in National and International market

- Lead along with brand team and cross functional team members to ensure timely delivery on assigned projects

Presently there is a need for Sr Manager Skin Care & Cleansing. The incumbent would be reporting directly to Product Development Head - HPC.

3. INNOVATION QUALITY

- Independently leading the Innovation delivery of all technical components required for an innovation project including activities that need to be managed /transferred to R&D, Supply Chain including Supply Management, Regulatory etc.

4. ACTIVITY SPAN

- In depth knowledge in formulation, development and evaluation of Skin care & Cleansing formulations. Knowledge of the Raw materials their performance requirements and their correlation with end use application in different formats of Skin care & Cleansing products.

- Deploy formulations together with full financial workings.

- Support specific cost saving programs related to formulations and get clearance from the stakeholders.

- Ensure that all the products are well tested under all environmental & accelerated tests & with panel evaluations before commercial launch.

- Ensure compliance of products with the current regulations (Ayurvedic, Cosmetic) and anticipate regulatory obstacles for trouble-shooting in new product development activities and emerging issues throughout the product life cycle

- Assist management & purchase with alternate good quality but cost efficient raw materials.

5. PERSONAL PROFILE

Key Skills:

- Independently Leading the formulation development for all the products under Emami Portfolio to include Business Project, Innovation Projects, Cost saving projects across skin care & cleansing.

- Interaction with other teams on product claims and support docket, suggest supportive clinical/safety (in vivo and in vitro) studies, should have knowledge on regulatory compliance (global and Indian), specifications of RMs and FG, Processing & FG.

- Work on formula reformulations to comply with regulatory changes and requirements.

- The person should be capable of selecting financially effective vendors and suppliers for procuring raw materials as per the global quality standards and norms.

- Support specific DTV / Cost saving programs related to formulations and get clearance from the stakeholders. Interact with other core functional teams, eg. Marketing / Brand / Ops for an effective delivery.

- Capable of Motivating, training and developing team members to reach the targeted level of performance and technical expertise.

Relevant Experiences:

- 10-12 years of R&D experience in relevant field of Skin care (Creams, Lotion, Oils, Face and Body washes etc.) Should posses effective communication and managerial skills.
