Sales Manager


The Sales Manager is responsible for the management and mentoring of a sales team under their direct control to ensure the overall sales and profitability objectives for the company. Responsibility covers expanding the customer base and market share, full customer account management whilst providing exceptional customer service, increasing customer satisfaction and improving credit performance.

Tasks for the role

- Develop and mentor a team of sales professionals to continually achieve and exceed sales targets.

- Launch new business centers and implement sales processes.


- Achieve all team and company revenue targets, as per the budget.


- Ensure cost effective superior customer service.

- Collaborate with the operation, procurement, and other stakeholders to enhance customer service.

- Develop and maintain territory coverage plan with a designated territory team


- Develop and maintain territory specific information relative to competitors and distributors in the market mix.

- Develop and implement key sales initiatives, programs, campaigns, and techniques to support sales and marketing objectives.

- Define and set sales targets and budgets for their sales team and monitor ongoing performance.

- Preparation of monthly performance reports for management and staff.


- Ensure all credit/debtor requests are actioned in a timely manner and the appropriate follow up is conducted and recorded.

- Prepare and provide regular written reports on market intelligence, tender activity and competitor activity information for their area of responsibility.

- Deliver the highest standard in professional conduct, personal presentation and company image.

- Instill and act in accordance with the company's vision, mission, and values and deliver actions that positively contribute to the company's culture.

Skills needed

- Minimum 5 years of FMCG business sales experience. (preferably from Fruits & Vegetables)

- Proven ability to build and manage a team.

- Proven success in utilizing interpersonal and sales skills at multiple levels to maximize sales.

- Strong sales and business development skills.

- Intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Database, and Management tools).

- Excellent negotiation and conflict management skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong presentation and tender / proposal development skills.

- Tertiary education within the areas of business, marketing and sales or relevant studies is desirable.

- Current driver's license and a motor vehicle.

- Wiling to travel across cities in Maharashtra.

- Candidates from FMCG companies only should apply


- Candidates should be able to speak Marathi.


- Candidates should be willing to travel extensively in Pune or Mumbai.
