Egregore Labs - Equities Research Role

The Company:

Egregore Labs is an early stage Fintech company founded in 2017 by Prashant Vijay & Hari Balaji, both of whom have spent over a decade each in Financial Services, with a majority of their experience at Goldman Sachs across New York, Hong Kong & Singapore in roles across Trading, Quant & Technology. We operate at the intersection of Data Science, Financial Markets and Technology to build the future of Quantamental Investing.

The Role:

We are looking for an enterprising colleague who can build the backbone of our fundamental valuation models & strategy and be the knowledge center for all things related to the Fundamental assessment of Equities.

Your core role will involve:

- Developing heuristics for Forecasting and Building/Scaling Equity Valuation Models

- Data Acquisition & Product Strategy Development/Execution

You will also work closely with the Founders on:

- Product Design

- Client Management

- New Business Development

You will be expected to:

- Be able to understand the thinking and needs of a fundamental equities fund manager

- Have a deep conceptual understanding of financial statements, ratios, and measures that are used to evaluate businesses for investment

- Be Hands-on with spreadsheets and model building

- Be Resourceful enough to transfer learning across sectors, countries, and markets

- Leverage your contacts and networks to gain specific knowledge that you might not have directly (across sectors, markets, etc)

The Candidate:

Our ideal candidate has had:

- Research experience (sell-side/buy-side agnostic) with a deep well-formulated view on at least two sectors along with interest & ability to think through the others.

- Multi-year hands-on modeling experience with the ability and willingness to create robust and comprehensive financial forecasts for companies.

- Around 5 years of professional experience in a front office Capital Markets role at least 3 years of which must have been spent evaluating equities (preferably in the Indian context)

We are an early stage company (under 10 people). Working here is not for the faint-hearted. An intense and unstructured work environment, lots of excitement and a group of motivated colleagues is what we bring to the table. We ask you to bring your undivided attention, strong worth ethic & resourcefulness. We are Delhi based (Lajpat Nagar), and work 6 days a week.
