Head - Credit Underwriting

As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a talented Credit Underwriter to join our team and drive the successful execution of key projects.
The Credit Underwriter will have the following responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed research on the financial history of individuals (and/or businesses) to determine their creditworthiness and make high level decisions on loan application process.
- Review and verify income statements, tax returns and other financial documents to develop a borrowers profile and arrive at a credit recommendation.
- Conduct telephonic discussions and risk assessments on potential applicants based on previous borrowing history, credit rating, industry experience and other factors
- Work closely with loan officers and assist them with verifying the accuracy of loan applications.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures. Collaborate with team members and upper management to establish guidelines and best practices.
- Conduct quality control audits and prepare monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports.
- Conduct telephone verification and make an assessment of the customer in order to resolve outstanding questions related to the transaction.
- Maintain portfolio of customers and monitor repayment progress.
- Evaluate customer records and recommend payment plans based on earnings, savings data, payment history and purchase activity
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting or a related field
- 10-15 years' experience in credit underwriting or similar profile with NBFC/Banks/Fin-tech retail lending institutions
- Experience with underwriting automation tools preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
