Vice President - Software Development

The Vice President, Software Development will be responsible for providing the strategic leadership necessary to ensure execution services are being delivered to the business in a timely and cost effective manner.

Job Description :

- Manage software development for multiple software technology product lines.

- Build commercial grade and high transaction web-based software.

- Work closely with the Product Management and Business Development teams to develop world-class products and partner with the leadership team to ensure overall business success.

- Collude with engineering, marketing and sales to support new features and products.

- Develop and implement the practice for delivering exceptional software products, platform capabilities, and enhanced site features.

- Play a key role in hiring engineering and product development talent to build core platforms and systems.

- Hire, train, mentor and manage the software engineering department.

- Become principle executive - point of contact- for the Software Development team.

- Lead multi-location teams to develop, support and scale existing applications that are facing extensive growth in complexity as well as usage volume.

- Play a key role to help to improve and optimizing the product development process in an agile (SCRUM) development environment.

- Ensure alignment with the key business stakeholders. Effectively manage resources and remove obstacles to accomplish business goals.

- Develop training and cross-training plans for the teams based on department needs and goals

Desired Profile :

- At least 15+ years of software engineering in fast-paced and, high transaction web-based software environment

- At least B.tech in Engineering, Masters preferred.

- The ability to collaborate with multiple departments, including sales, marketing, and product teams to define and execute several simultaneous products.

- Demonstrated drive to get things done with a track record of success

- Proven record of coaching for performance. Record of setting high-performance standards and holding self and others accountable.

- Curious, self-directed learner able to both learn and put new learning to work quickly

- Comfort with ambiguity. Ability to operate productively with only high-level clarity or direction without becoming stuck. Comfortable operating in white space and helping to create clarity and direction.

- Strong communication and listening skills. Ability to design and deliver compelling presentations for technical and non-technical audiences at a variety of levels.

- Previous background in analyzing and improving work processes and implementing changes.

- Strong strategic planning skills.
