Educational Initiatives - Associate Vice President - Business Development - Mindspark

Have you ever wondered how you can use your Sales skills to bring a meaningful high-quality education to low-income children

- How can this be a scalable endeavor that is not restricted to a group of children or a city but across the nation

- Do you want to use your presentation skills to take an existing pilot touching 10,000 children in 70 government schools of Rajasthan and evangelize it to grow 100x to 1 million children in 5 States over the next 3 years

- Does the thought of playing a meaningful catalytic role in this endeavor by channelizing the large sums of money spent in the education sector excite you

- If yes, consider joining Educational Initiatives

- A 16-year-old institution that is internationally famed for its work in measuring learning outcomes and creating solutions to making it happen. EI's work has been recognized on the cover story of the Economist, captured in a Harvard Business School case, made it to the final rounds at Qatar Foundation's WISE Awards and demonstrated impact by several independent 3rd party evaluation agencies like J-PAL and IDInsight.

- All these recognitions will act as solid Marketing collateral in your endeavor to seek philanthropy capital.

- However, the Business Development role is not for the faint of heart. Here are several reasons why you should NOT apply for this job.

- This is a high-pressure job. There are 250 million children going to government schools every day. Unless we act fast, these children are growing older and graduating from schools with little employable or life skills.

- Hence you will be expected to race against the clock and raise adequate funding to serve these kids and bring them an opportunity to learn from a world-class adaptive learning program that is used by over 100,000 children in 200+ schools in India and the Middle East. The job will be such that you will be thinking about this 24x7. Oh, and there is no summer vacation!

More than Rs. 10,000+ Crore is spent annually by Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); however, there is generally an unwillingness to spend a small % of that with for-profit social enterprises. If you are not an NGO you are a NoGO! You will have to convince on merit that this is the best option.

- Cost per child matters a lot more than the return of investment. As a sound professional you will be educating people on what they should demand every rupee they invest, rather than what is the lowest cost solution that gives them the largest number of beneficiaries.

- You will have a sharp manager - who is constantly going to challenge you intellectually - and demand a lot. The intention will be to take you to places that you haven- t seen and helped you discover your potential that even you didn't know you were capable of. Expect WhatsApp at 8 pm and a reply on that by 10 pm.

- And if the above isn't enough, you- ll also interact with the CEO and the Board of Directors of Educational Initiatives who are all very passionate about serving this segment of the demographic.

- Oh and not to mention the donors who will ensure that this project is going well! Overall it- ll be a packed house of people who will expect you to reach the moon!

- The monetary rewards will mimic entrepreneurship to the fullest extent - your basic needs will get covered and there is potential to make this financially satisfying - but your ultimate rewards will be creating something innovative and taking into scale under your leadership. The opportunity of a lifetime!

- The goals are not easy to raise Rs. 5 Crore in the short run (1 year) and Rs. 20 Crore in 3 years - all this while ensuring that every project is causing children learning to happen. After that possible expansion to other countries. We weren't kidding about reaching the moon.

- You- ll be working in tough conditions - requiring patients in a long sales cycle, ingenuity in competitive grant making and participating cleanly in government tenders - yet you must persist and work hard towards ensuring that every child is getting a fantastic education.

You must be out of your mind to take this job after reading the above text. Visual imagery and details available at www.ei-india.com and:
