Economist

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis:

- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to economic trends, market behaviour, and policy impacts on both global as well as domestic level.

- Utilize statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, SAS) to perform quantitative analyses.

Research:

- Conduct thorough research on various economic topics, including macroeconomic trends, labour markets, consumer behaviour, and fiscal policy.

- Prepare comprehensive reports that summarize findings and provide recommendations.

Model Development:

- You will develop and maintain quantitative models to forecast macroeconomic data and assess the outlook for economic conditions, global & domestic interest rates, inflation, growth, exchange rates etc.

- You will be expected to maintain dashboards to monitor the output from various models and to keep track of macro-economic and financial market movements.

Collaboration:

- You will work closely with front office team to provide economic insights that support business strategy and decision-making.

Presentations:

- Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders, including executives, policymakers, and clients, effectively communicating complex economic concepts in an accessible manner.

Monitoring Trends:

- Stay updated on current economic developments, trends, and research methodologies.

- Participate in professional development activities to enhance expertise.

Media Representation:

- Representing Company in media and be a part of corporate communication.

Report Writing:

- Author detailed reports and articles for publication for internal and external, contributing to the organization's thought leadership.

Mentorship:

- Assist in the training and development of junior economists and interns, fostering a collaborative and educational work environment.

Qualifications:

Education:

- Minimum Master's degree in Economics (Ph.D. in Economics preferred).

- A strong foundation in econometrics and statistical analysis is essential.

Experience:

- 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in economic research, policy analysis, or a related area.

- Experience in Banks/NBFCs will be preferred

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SAS, Stata) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).

- Deep understanding of economic modelling and forecasting techniques.
