A leading agricultural machinery company is looking to hire candidates who can take responsibility for the procurement process and help the organization in optimizing buying costs without compromising on quality or availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for part & component sourcing, selecting, and managing suppliers to achieve competitive cost, quality, and delivery performance
- Negotiate with suppliers on the lead time, cost and quality so as to obtain the maximum benefit for the Company
- To monitor & administer the performance of suppliers during the contract term and prior to the expiry of the contract inclusive of conducting supplier performance evaluation, updating the performance of suppliers & communicating feedback to suppliers for improvement
- Secure and analyze market information to support purchasing decisions
- Perform feasibility study of localization projects
- Assist the Engineering team on the cost of new product development
- Provide technical support to local production including setting up a new production line, maintenance of plant equipment, and sourcing of spare parts
- Ensure commercial, legal, and contractual compliances in all procurement transactions
- Manages quality control, product rejections and resolves vendor disputes
- Undertake ad-hoc assignment as and when assigned by the supervising manager
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (ideally in Mechanical/Agricultural Engineering) or equivalent (MBA in supply chain management good to have)
- Minimum 5 years experience in sourcing/procurement activity involving sheet metal parts for agricultural machinery components & consumable
- Able to work out costing for part cost & tooling cost estimation
- A strong team player, excellent negotiation & effective communication skills in dealing within the supply chain is a must
- Able to work under pressure with least supervision, self-motivated, customer & result oriented minded
- Familiarity with manufacturing agricultural machinery would be an advantage
- Experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control will have added advantages
