Develops, implements and administers employee compensation and benefit plans and programs. Performs complex job and salary analyses to determine internal equity, external competitiveness and legal compliance. Assists in the design, implementation and administration of incentive/bonus/sales compensation plans.
Provides process improvement recommendations to senior business leaders for resolving compensation issues and ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements. Evaluates existing and proposed benefits programs and recommends the development of new programs/plans. Develops and prepares compensation and/or benefits reports. Mentors lower level compensation and/or benefits specialist.
Job Description :
- Reviews and analyzes executive, salaried and hourly job information. Reviews, revises and/or writes job descriptions based on job content questionnaires and subject matter expert interviews.
- Determines and recommends FLSA exemption at the position level.
- Coordinates and administers employee benefit programs such as health, dental, group life, disability, etc.
- Counsels and provides guidance on benefit plan options, policy features, eligibility and other matters related to benefits to ensure employees can make informed decisions with regard to their benefit packages.
- Reviews jobs and recommends appropriate level(s) assignment based on Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) exemptions, market data and internal job benchmarks.
- Coordinates the development and implementation of approved job title and other related coding into Human Resources system.
- Determines system requirements, and coordinates across business units to ensure accurate configuration.
- Conducts, participates in and/or develops salary surveys. Analyzes market data to evaluate competitive position to the market and makes recommendations taking into account internal metrics.
- Recommends changes to salary ranges and budgets based on analysis.
- Reviews and analyzes hourly and salaried out of cycle pay adjustment requests. Approves or recommends alternate solutions. Supports tier two help desk fielding compensation related questions.
- Prepares employee communications on changes, additions or deletions to current benefit plans to ensure employees have up to date information.
- Reviews communication materials with management and legal counsel prior to distribution to ensure information is accurate and in compliance with the applicable laws.
- Audits/researches employee information to ensure compliance to company policy and regulatory requirements. Provides audit support by researching and developing response documentation supporting/showing compliance.
- Participates in the implementation of the annual performance review and merit increase process.
- Reviews recommended salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, policies and practices.
- Approves and submits for approval of business unit executive management. Coordinates implementation of salary adjustments.
- Communicates with business unit management. Provides subject matter expert recommendations regarding compensation issues.
- Resolves questions and issues and/or refers to more senior compensation specialist as appropriate. Conducts training sessions in person and virtually as appropriate.
- Remains current on personnel policies, compensation/HR information systems, programs and practices.
- Reviews existing and proposed statutory requirements governing benefits administration and recommends appropriate courses of action.
- Stays informed on new and pending laws and regulations.
