DVP - Branch Monitoring - Cluster Manager
Branch Assessment & Monitoring (On-Site) :
- Branch Risk Ranking shall be completed by BMCM on a semi-annual exercise factoring key risk / control items including portfolio size, error rate, score card trends, customer complaints, account closures, operational errors etc. The branches shall be ranked as High, Medium & Low- and will be integrated with compliance risk rating (HOW ).
- Basis the branch risk rating, BMCM shall be conducting on-site assessment of the branches. All branches designated to the BMCM shall be visited and reviewed at least once in a quarter. Any exception to the quarterly review plan to be highlighted and documented with COO and BBB Head with reason, for their information.
Branch Assessment & Monitoring (Off-Site) :
- Besides the BMCM Team, a separate Centralized Monitoring Unit will be in place to assess branch functioning and transaction processing with a group of 4-5 members. This is currently supported by the BCRM Team with limited resources and sample transaction basis.
- This new unit will review and monitor specific transactions, actions in branches to ensure first level control and adherences in day to day functioning:
Retrieval based Monitoring :
- Monitor branch transaction based on system retrievals highlighted by the Central Monitoring Team.
- Track the branch response, review the adequacy and accuracy of response / underlying documentation prior to disposition.
- Identify trends pertaining to branch / employee and conduct RCA including process / system review and work towards process / system change.
- Branch Scorecard & MIS: Review of branches based on monitoring tools such as scorecard & OPS / Service MIS. These provide a strong indicator of branch level functioning and control appreciation. These tools will provide early warning signals to BMCM reviewer to prioritize relevant branches as well define visitation schedule
Engagement with Control Functions :
Internal Audit :
- The key responsibility of BMCM is to ensure that branches achieve Satisfactory Audit Rating. The BMCM reviewer essentially ensures early detection of control failures, and work towards improvement of branch rating.
- BMCM reviewer is responsible for review of Audit Issues and assess whether these are localized or across branches (systemic/ process etc) and accordingly work towards review and remediation with the branch teams.
Compliance Team :
- BMCM will also engage with the Compliance Team for the improvement in KYC/AML related areas in branches or any gaps identified during the periodic review and streamline the processes.
Process Management Group / BSG :
- BMCM reviewer may identify process gaps / improvement opportunities as part of branch assessment. These should be raised to PMG / stakeholders for enhancement and tracked until closures.
- Similarly, BMCM reviewer should also assess opportunities for system improvement and automation and work with BSG for effecting such changes and reduce manual intervention / errors.
Recruitment :
- BMCM will play an active role in the selection process of SDMs and CSA's in branches to ensure people with right knowledge and skill set are hired and placed in the branches.
Skill Set / Qualification :
Overall experience of 10-12 years, with 6-8 years experience in core Branch Operations & Service roles. Exposure to review of banking operations shall be of added advantage
- Knowledge & experience on Retail Liabilities & related processes.
- Knowledge & experience in Retail Asset, FI & Agri for identified geographies
- Knowledge and awareness in Service Parameters, Service Regulatory requirement, e.g. BCSBI, Banking Ombudsman
- Exposure to working with metrics reporting
- Intensive system knowledge Finacle, proficient in MS-OFFICE
