Job Description :

- DuPont Pioneer is the world leader in the plant biotechnology area including the discovery, development and delivery of elite crop genetics. We are currently seeking a Senior Research Associate at the DuPont Knowledge Center in Hyderabad, India for our global Data Science and Informatics group.The hiring level will be commensurate with the level of experience.

Duties / Responsibilities :

- As a Senior Research Associate you will responsible for developing methods, pipelines/workflows for the analysis of diverse types of omics data and genome sequence data.In coordination with the global bioinformatics team and in collaboration with other internal or external data scientists, participate in designing and implementing computational solutions/processes to cover unmet needs.

- The candidate will be part of a diverse team of experimental biologists, computational biologists and software developers. A critical aspect of this position involves working with global teams across multiple locations. Communication and team work are key elements of this role; excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Education and Experience :

- Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science with at least 3-7 years experience in industry OR PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or related quantitative biology research areas

- Experience in scientific programming including but not limited to Python, R, JavaScript

- Demonstrated experience in the development of bioinformatics software and or large scale computational pipelines

- Experience with sequence analysis methods/software including sequence search methods, Phylogenetic / evolutionary analysis tools

- Experience in NGS technologies and different areas of genome sequence analysis including genome assembly, alignment, variant calling, gene structure and gene function annotation

- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) are a must.

- Demonstrated capability as highly organized, a creative problem-solver, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as within cross-functional teams
