Drinkwell's founding team has prior experience deploying over 200 systems across arsenic-affected West Bengal through a non-profit franchise model, and is looking to rapidly scale up its India footprint by hiring a India Operations Head who can enthusiastically:
- Build critical operational processes in partnership with the current Kolkata based team to be able to identify, target, and land government, commercial, and non-profit customers that will help Drinkwell reach 5 million people over the next 5 years.
- Assist the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) manage Drinkwell's proprietary manufacturing process by building systems around procurement, assisting with vendor negotiation, and building post-shipment traceability functions.
- Ensure a world-class experience for customers operating our systems in arsenic and fluoride-affected regions by managing sales, procurement and construction, and after-sales servicing functions.
Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and land top-level partnerships with Central and State Governments, Corporates, and Urban Housing Complexes via tenders and other means to grow firm's footprint pan-India.
- Work with senior staff to revise and expand products and services, and identify, evaluate, and lead strategic and tactical business opportunities.
- Lead full sales life cycle by capturing and moving leads through sales process, delivering system to customer by understanding water quality reports and mechanical diagrams, and liaising with subcontractors and vendors to ensure system is deployed on time and on budget.
- Manage day-to-day operations of Drinkwell's sales, operations, and customer service staff by overseeing HR, Finance, Compliance functions.
- Report directly to CEO of parent company and work with global company leads to realize cost efficiencies, operational improvements, and chart future strategy of the company through Monthly Business Reviews and input into Quarterly Board Meetings.
Needed Qualities
- Willingness to learn about water treatment technology (prior water treatment technology experience preferred)
- Natural mentor and team leader.
- Passion towards bringing safe drinking water to underserved communities across India.
- Enthusiasm for travel to rural areas.
- Strong comfort working with a remote team by using email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, as well as Whatsapp and Skype.
- Fluent in English and Hindi. Fluency in Bengali a plus.
- Well regarded for both always getting results and well respected by all coworkers and partners.
