Associate Director - External R&D and Global Mktg
Key Responsibilities :
New product conceptualization :
Technology exploration : Ideate new product concepts; search potential technologies outside DRL (universities/drug companies).
Technical Assessment : Understand pharmacological, formulation, IP and regulatory aspects to decide novelty; develop ability and approvability of concepts.
Commercial Assessment : Determine market size, sales revenues, Profit & Loss, Net present value and internal rate of return Business case approval; prepare business case using outcome of technical and commercial assessment; present in New Product Review (NPR) meeting in order to add new products to PP portfolio
R&D Program Management :
Develop Project plan : Prepare end-to-end project plan; identify risks, risk mitigation strategies, required resources, budget, timeline in consultation with interdisciplinary stakeholders; negotiate the plan (duration, resource, strategy, milestone, budget) with respective stakeholders and get their sign off; get approval for project plan from BU head.
Lead program execution : Implement execution of project plan. Monitor and review project progress; report and escalate (as needed) to relevant stakeholders and/or senior management in order to ensure timely progression of project. Justify higher investment for development
Interface with stakeholders :
Engagement of interdisciplinary stakeholders : Based on interdisciplinary knowledge, co-ordinate with various internal/external stakeholders throughout the conceptualization, project planning, project execution, progress review, and dossier preparation in order to ensure alignment of all stakeholders to the project scope.
Operating Network :
Internal : Strategic Marketing, Marketing Team, Portfolio teams, GMA, Contract Manufacturing, Formulation, Biology, Clinical (PP and GG), Regulatory, IP and Corporate Development
External : Physicians, Payers, KOLs, Patients, R&D centres in academia and business
Educational Qualifications : Ph.D./ MBBS /MD / M.Pharma+MBA
Experience Required - 8-10 years of experience of in pharmaceutical R&D/Business development/marketing
- Business understanding of Pharmaceutical drug development process, pharmaceutical marketing
- Strong interdisciplinary knowledge, understanding of new product development process and challenges
- Ability to conduct market analysis for identified pathological condition and treatment
