- Dot & Key is seeking an innovative and experienced Research and Development Scientist to join our Formulation Development team.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for independently developing skincare and cosmetic products, managing the entire product development lifecycle from formulation to manufacturing.
- The role requires a strong understanding of skincare formulations, including sun care, moisturizers, serums, rinse-off products, and lip care, with a focus on incorporating the latest trends and technologies in the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of skincare and cosmetic products, particularly sunscreens, moisturizers, serums, and lip care products.
- Oversee the product development cycle from formulation through sensory evaluation, manufacturing processes, and stability testing.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging trends and technologies in the skincare and cosmetics sector, especially within the D2C market.
- Implement new formulation technologies and innovative formats in product development.
- Manage product development from conceptualization to final approval, including troubleshooting during the manufacturing phase to ensure optimal output.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, manufacturing teams, and quality assurance to ensure seamless product launch.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive product database to substantiate claims regarding product safety and efficacy for both domestic and international markets.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements such as KYC, AML, and international cosmetic regulations.
- Maintain thorough documentation of product development, including findings, protocols, and formulation data.
- Prepare technical reports and ensure compliance with documentation standards for internal reviews and external regulatory approvals.
- Work collaboratively with the product team and management on the launch and refinement of products.
- Be adaptable and flexible, responding promptly to project needs and challenges.
Required Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Technology, Chemical Engineering, Oil Technology, Pharmacology, or Pharmaceutics.
- 4-5 years of experience in formulation development of personal care products, especially in sun care, moisturizers, serums, and lip care.
- Strong expertise in formulation processes and skincare product development.
- Familiarity with the latest formulation technologies and D2C market trends.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Highly motivated, logical, hardworking, and able to handle challenges in a fast-paced environment.
