Our client, a leading global financial institution and a market leader in its field, is actively seeking an experienced Computer Science Engineer Historical Market Data and Simulation division. This division is responsible for various aspects of the historical market data pipeline and exchange simulator software. You will be responsible for providing the vision and leadership to our engineering teams in building Tower's historical market data and simulation technology stack into a key source of competitive advantage.
Responsibilities will include:
- Working with local and divisional management to prioritize activities and driving team efforts towards common vision and goals.
- Working with other teams in engineering, product management, and trading to understand business requirements and translate them into deliverable projects.
- Overall development throughput of the local division teams and engineers.
- Taking end-to-end responsibility and making hands-on contributions to key projects.
- Oversight of formal planning, execution and delivery of projects.
- Instilling, promoting and enforcing best engineering practices throughout the division.
- Coordinating distributed development efforts, anticipating and removing potential roadblocks.
- Playing a key role staffing decisions, recruiting, talent retention.
- Management functions including team member career development, reviews, and compensation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 8 years' experience in software development.
- Experience in recruiting, leading and managing developers.
- Experience conceptualizing and delivering non-trivial development projects.
- Prior experience in electronic trading environment and historical market data, simulation.
- Prior experience with statistical arbitrage, optimization, large datasets.
- Hands-on attitude, focus on team productivity, commitment to delivering well engineered and fully tested solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
