The Enterprise Architects works with leadership and subject matter experts, to build a holistic view of the client organization's strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets. The role of the Enterprise Architect is to take this knowledge and ensure that the business and IT are in alignment. As an example, An enterprise architect is able to facilitate conversations around consolidation of applications and trade-off between different solutions.
Outstanding technical contribution and leadership is expected from an enterprise architect. In a significantly large program, an Enterprise Architect is responsible for solution and technical vision in line with client's business strategy. An enterprise architect can run REAP and Fusion independently.
Development:
- Responsible for ensuring consistency in architecture and integration approach in large applications
- Plays senior architect role in a very large engagement Planning, Tracking & Estimation - Senior Architect for a very large engagement
Client Interaction:
- Represent the organization in customer-facing communication related to technical expertise
- Interacts with multiple clients (client senior developers and architects) to create technology standards, specifications as needed for an application
- Identifies choices and trade offs involved in designing and implementing a solution and communicates them to the client.
- Participates in client workshops like fusions. Runs workshops like planning, estimation and architecture specification workshop
Thought Leadership:
- Supports capability building for the organization (through tutorials, white papers etc.) in their areas of expertise
- Develops and promotes architectural best practices and standards
- Stays abreast with the current affairs like leading packages and vendors, forthcoming architectures and trends, and existing and forthcoming standards.
- Identifies areas of focus and gains expertise through various activities like POC, research etc.
- Shares personal knowledge through coaching and mentoring, in addition to participating and running knowledge sharing sessions and community building activities
- Regarded as a thought leader in the enterprise architecture space.
Team and People Management:
- Manages a large sized team and resolves issues and dependencies in the team along with the Project manager.
- Reviews the key objectives of projects and clarifies the linkage of tasks to the overall objectives
- Responsible for performance assessment and working with the team for creating growth plans
- Effectively communicate the company strategy, important events. etc. to the team on a periodic basis
- Coaches and mentors the team to help deliver to the client expectations
- Actively participates in and assists with company events such as hiring, training and internal initiatives.
