Position :
Director / Vice President - Legal
Reports to : General Counsel, India and Regional Company Secretary
Location : Mumbai
Roles &Responsibilities :
- Head the India Corporate Legal team
- Thorough knowledge of IT related matters
- Must have independently worked on a negotiated large IT Contracts
- Must have inept knowledge on the rules and regulations surrounding technology both locally and internationally - emphasis on market data and software licensing
- Must be up to speed on all the legal requirements surrounding Technology e.g. - Robotics, Big data etc.
- Must have a commercial mind-set at the same time the key Ingredients of a control function.
- A gist of the support is provided below :
- Must have in-depth knowledge on the laws relating to Intellectual Property Must have in-depth knowledge on Privacy and information systems
- Manage a team of about 10
- Focus on Corporate Governance
- Good working knowledge of Income tax and the Department of Telecommunications
- Should have worked on contentious and litigious matters Transfer pricing, inter-company agreements
Qualifications :
LL.B, LLM (Indian or International degree), Company Secretary
Experience :
15 + years- experience peer banks, law firms both within India or abroad
Key Skills :
Domain :
- 15+ years- experience in handling IT contracts
- A Law degree from a reputed university/ institute in India or abroad
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- International experience desirable. Experience from having worked in a law firm and a bank / financial institution
Technical :
- At least 15+ years- experience of which at least 10 years should have been in the financial services industry or bank.
- Hands-on knowledge of IT laws and negotiations of large IT contracts. Company Secretarial Matters.
- In depth knowledge of the regulations surrounding the Indian Companies Act, RBI, SEBI, Income Tax, Indirect Taxes, Department of Telecommunication and other Indian and
- Global technology regulations. ability to translate divisional and firm-wide strategies into plans through sound decision making and judgment
