Role Title - UX Director

Function - DBU

Reports To - VP Digital Business Unit

Location - Bangalore

Mission (Why does this role exist?) and Scope (About the Job)

- Build world class UX team and highly intuitive User experience for Web and Mobile application in support of Enphase digital platform. Enable Enphase to succeed in market by building easy to use application in collaboration with various stakeholders including Customer Support, homeowners, and installers

We seek experienced UX leader who can be the resident expert to lead user experience initiatives in Energy Management Space. Proven expertise in building UX for Cloud and Mobile applications. Well versed with all facets of designing/developing UX and familiar with best-in-class industry practices & tools/technologies.

Work with customers and stakeholders throughout the organization to understand customer needs and drive business solutions and decisions. Ability to drive product teams, Business units and Engineering teams by building wireframes/workflow, providing working prototypes & proof of concepts and conducing audits.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes (What the Person needs to accomplish in the role ?)

- Lead a team of researchers to explore opportunities, generate product and service ideas, evaluate designs-in-progress, and conduct causal research to explain the behavior found in our massive data stores

- Use your expertise to teach quantitative and qualitative methods

- Guide team members to help them work effectively with product and development teams

- Be a thought partner to help team members invent and pioneer research methods

- Collaborate with Design, Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Marketing leaders

- Focus on business goals to enhance the impact of your team's efforts

- Identify knowledge gaps and define new research opportunities.

- Design and conduct generative and evaluative user research using qualitative (field observations, remote and in-person usability studies and interviews) and quantitative methods (surveys).

- Adapt and innovate research practices to meet team needs under the tight timeframes of a rapidly growing company.

- Collaborate closely with other researchers and cross-functional team members including designers, product managers, data scientists, operations, and engineers. Help the team grow to be more empathetic with our users.

- Synthesize and communicate research findings to shape designs and inform product roadmap.

- Minimum Qualifications: Education, Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Behaviour) and Experience

- MS or PhD degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field

- 15+ years of relevant experience in a product development research setting in managing UX teams and projects

- Track record of demonstrating excellent command of research questions within a given domain and of technical tools for the analysis of data within that domain

- Relevant research experience, or equivalent industry experience, in a product centric environment.

- Demonstrable ability to plan and conduct mid-to-large scale research projects, in close collaboration with people of different functions.

- Experience with mixed methods - both qualitative and quantitative

- Deep understanding of the strengths and weakness of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during various product phases.

- Previous experience driving research programs that have had a lasting impact on product and design decisions

- Experiencing with best-in-class UX practices and tools/technologies.

- IOT Based product functionality knowledge.

- A technical mindset with great attention to detail

- Agile Software Development experience with Kanban/Scrum, TDD/BDD and CI methodologies

- Positive team player attitude with conflict management and influencing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Exposure or knowledge in Renewable Tech companies

- Familiar with working with any embedded or telecom or hardware product is desirable

- Ability to work on a fast-paced environment
