Director - Technology Research

Looking for Director Technology Research for our client in Bangalore.

As a Director of Technology Research, European Innovation Ecosystem you will be part of the team responsible for guiding the strategic technical direction of . The position involves identifying, tracking, and trending technology and business innovation within the European idea ecosystem and communicating the value of the emerging technology or approach with the highest ranks of senior management in. This community engagement and research, when paired with organizations such as Labs, Consumer, Emerging Technology and Platform Research, will serve to evaluate and shape the future direction of technology over the long-term.

Primary Responsibilities:

We are looking for an experienced technologist to provide technical leadership in the areas of next-generation technologies. You must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where the ability to perform diverse tasks is essential to job success.

We will look to you to:

- Identify existing and increasingly influential key idea ecosystem participants,

- Scan, track, and trend global innovation trends, synthesizing for 's needs

- Generate opportunities for and BU development:

- Create and maintain relationships with key VC firms, R&D organizations in established companies, academic institutions, challenges/incubators, and others

- Provide and engagement management services for select ecosystem participants.

- Facilitate innovation trips for leadership

- Collect and analyze business intelligence on customers and competitors

- Represent externally through presentation, mentorship, and event participation and sponsorship

- Establish technology partnerships with vendors, universities and others who are working on innovations which might be of interest to .

You will participate in technology forecasting, innovation cluster analysis, competitive benchmarking, and the development of advanced technologies.

- Responsibilities will include the preparation and presentation of oral and written reports, reviews, proposals and schedules for business units and highest levels of senior management.

- This person will be expected to participate in the global technology community by attending conferences, visiting universities, and engaging innovative companies and people.

Desired Skills and Experience

Education and Experience:

We are looking for someone with deep relationships throughout the idea ecosystem- Venture Capital (VCs), Startups, Entrepreneurs, Big Companies with R&D organizations, and Universities.

- A keen understanding of technology is required, with the ability to communicate that expertise to both technical and non-technical audiences verbally and in text.

- An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is preferred but not required, and an MBA from a top-tier school is desirable. Experience with a top-tier internet firm is also preferred but not required.

You must have real world experience at the juncture between business and technology, and be knowledgeable in several of the technologies below:
