Director - Technology - Internet/eCommerce

Job Profile :

Head Technology for India Operations.

- Lead a high-performance engineering group and deliver world-class products on multiple platforms across the globe, including front end and back end engineering.

- Oversee technology for high profile and large scale apps - Mobile / Web and Native Apps.

- Work closely with Executive Management, Product Management, and Project Management

- Lead teams across multiple regions and provide the encouragement and guidance required for building a high performing team

- Collaborate with Global technology teams to communicate best practices and create efficiencies on projects.

- Be the champion of good process, including creating and maintaining accurate and current technical documentation, unit tests, load testing, and project planning in coordination with our project management and QA teams.

- Oversee high-traffic, guest-facing application servers and awareness of performance and load considerations.

Desired Profile :

Engineering Degree with 15+ years experience in Internet / eCommerce industry

Technically proficient in the following :

- Experience with Java, JavaScript, AJAX, and HTML5 a must.

- Common delivery protocols including HTTP, SSL, SMTP, UDP, TCP/IP

- Guest-facing application experience

- Excellent understanding of multi-tier web architectures, and OO design patterns and concepts

- Experience managing teams that have built mobile products for either mobile web or native applications (iOS and Android)

- Knowledgeable with digital video and its capabilities across digital products - mobile / web and native apps.

- Hands-on experience working with a video platform is preferred.

- Experience working in a successful onshore/offshore or multinational environment.

- A passion for building things. Extensive hands on Software Engineering experience is required.
