The Organization is nodal body for large manufacturers in Construction/Engineering/Cement Industry. The Association's primary responsibilities are National Branding and Managing relationship with Government bodies, regulators and other relevant institutions. As a representative organization, it articulates genuine and legitimate need and interests of the industry.
Role description
Following key divisions of organization would roll up to leadership of Director (Technical), covering - Environment, Fuels, Mining, Power Consumption, Waste Management & Sustainability, Bureau of Indian Standards. It would involve a strong Interface with the external stakeholders - Indian government, State government, environment & pollution bodies, industry policy makers, municipal corporations. Provide direction to technical team (CMA activities) & research initiatives. Subareas spanning over few key areas are -
Environment
- CEMS
- Online Monitoring Protocol
- Emission standards
- Ground water usage
- E certs
Fuels
- Coal Pet Coke
- Alternate Fuel Resources (AFR)
Power Consumption
- Waste Heat Recovery (WHR)

- Co processing of Waste
Key responsibilities
- Provide direction and inputs to the Technical team in areas of ongoing CMA activities
- To keep abreast of technological innovations and developments taking place in the Cement industry for effectively advising the members on the issues of Quality, Fuels, Energy, Environment, Waste Management & Sustainability
- Provide inputs and analysis to CMA member companies
- Organize & co-ordinate different meetings of CMA Technical Committee
- Keep updated of Important Government Notifications like Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MOEF&CC), Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Ministry of Power, Ministry of Mines, Indian Railways, Ministry of Coal, MOUD etc. which impacts the cement industry
- Closely work with DIPP on issues impacting the operations of Indian Cement Industry
- Closely work with associated sectoral bodies like NCB, CPCB, CII, NEERI on Environment and Energy issues
- To produce the Technical Journal covering national and international innovations/developments, research papers, technological breakthroughs related to the Cement Industry in India
Key Skills
- Should have knowledge about Fuel - Coal, Pet coke; Plastics; Emission norms & pollution control methods; mines & mining process
- Should have worked for Cement companies (Environment sector) / conducted cement industry related research
- Previous experience of having undertaken research related to energy efficiency/energy conservation/ waste reduction/fuel efficiency
- From industry as cement and related associations like CSI, QSI, CRRI, National Building Institute, State Pollution Control Board and the likes.
Education Qualification
Engineering degree in Chemical/Environmental Sciences or suitable stream
Experience - 15 to 25 years, with good leadership skills, ability to multitask and deliver in stringent timelines. Having excellent communication skills.
