Job Title: Director - Skill Development
Location: Gujarat, India
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to serve as the Director of Skill Development at University. The Director will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive skill development programs aimed at enhancing the employability and career readiness of our students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in education, program management, and a passion for fostering the professional growth of students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a strategic vision for skill development programs that align with the university's mission and vision.
2. Search various ongoing skill development schemes run by various skill councils promoted by central and state government.
3. Continuously liaison with government officials of government promoted skill councils and reputed international and national corporates.
4. Perpetuate discussion and dialogues with internal academic heads to understand strength of faculty members to promote skill certificate / training in association with external stakeholders.
5. Identify opportunities with government and international / national agencies to be nodal agencies.
6. Be in touch with the domain experts to design and develop syllabus, course curriculum, exam scheme, session planning to offer contemporary skill programmes.
7. Collaborate with academic departments, career services, and industry partners to identify skill gaps and emerging trends in the job market.
8. Design and deliver workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance soft skills, technical competencies and professional development in the niche / grey areas.
9. Oversee the administration of assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of skill development initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
10. Provide leadership and guidance to a team of instructors, coordinators, and support staff involved in skill development activities.
11. Stay abreast of best practices, research findings, and innovations in skill development and higher education to inform program enhancements and strategic decision-making.
12. Manage the budget, resources, and logistical aspects of skill development programs, ensuring efficient use of university resources.
13. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote skill development initiatives and engage students in program participation.
14. Represent the university at conferences, workshops, and industry events to showcase our skill development efforts and build partnerships with external stakeholders.
Qualification and Eligibility Criteria:
- Any Master degree holder preferably MBA / Engineer. A Ph.D. is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 - 20 years of experience in education, training, or workforce development, with a focus on skill development initiatives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of current trends, issues, and best practices in skill development, higher education, and the job market.
- Proactive and target oriented and go getter personality.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing teams in a complex organizational setting.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate programs effectively.
