About the role

Arthan's partner organisation is a leading industry body in India.

For the role of Director, we are looking for a thought leader and community builder who will provide strategic and operational guidance and lead it. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven, highly intensive and dynamic environment. Creativity, maturity, and a nuanced understanding of the sector are a must. The person must be intellectually curious, have a strategic view, be able to build relationships and possess managerial skills. S/he must also be able to comfortably communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders and catalyse collaborations across functions.

Responsibilities

Leading a small (3-person) team, the Director will be responsible for:

-Implementing the organisation's strategy in India

- Managing the strategic growth of the organisation, including local fundraising, member recruitment and overall sustainability efforts

- Representing the org at national and regional industry events through networking and profile -raising opportunities

- Building the media profile and brand image

- Planning and hosting of at least quarterly major events at-least once every quarter to support the growth [Events could be training programs or sector conventions or other events)

- Managing the budget and financial reporting

- Designing local member engagement programme

- Coordinating quarterly or more frequent meetings to support networking and knowledge sharing

- Providing liaison, drawing down resources from the global network as well as feeding information on India back into the global network

Requirements

- 10+ years of work experience with at-least 2 years- work experience in a similar or related role MBA / Other related master's Programs with relevant work experience in:

- Partnership management;

- Strategic and operational planning;

- Business Planning and Project and event management

- Stakeholder management

- Prior experience of working in industry bodies. Experience in Business Development, Strategy would be preferred

- Experience in the Social Impact sector in India is highly desirable, though not mandatory

- A strategic overview with an ability to grasp the entirety of the ecosystem- its purpose, its history, the myriad of stakeholders, its emerging direction, and the goals that support that direction

- Seasoned relational and collaboration skills and ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders

- Diplomacy, discretion and unflappability; ability to comfortably engage with illustrious personalities, and work in challenging dynamics, and strong interpersonal currents

- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, remain cool-headed when there are curve balls, and withstand the tests of a rapidly changing environment with resilience and resolve

- An entrepreneurial mindset and ability work in a start-up ecosystem

- Strong writing capabilities

- Availability and willingness to travel within India and internationally

- The role will be full-time based in Delhi NCR, India
