Job Title: Director - Research
Location: Bangalore, India
KRAs:
This is a leadership position to manage the research business of our client in India. We are looking for a seasoned research/consulting professional who can drive the growth and expansion and the key roles and responsibilities will include :
- Collaborating with the global executives to support them on their ongoing engagements or sales effort.
- Overall project management of the entire group and liaise as required to implement policy decisions.
- Drive Process and Product Improvement initiatives across teams.
- Work with the leadership team to create roadmap for the company.
- Work with Global Research leadership to identify focus areas and research themes on an ongoing basis.
- Support in defining the research strategy and business expansion initiatives.
- Connect between research and consulting.
- Drive Pre sales and Proposal discussions
- Drive Project Scoping and Delivery efforts.
- Responsible for mentoring and guidance to the team.
- Drive the hiring effort and building the India research team.
- Liaise with service provider executives.
Candidate Education and Experience :
- The candidate should have Engineering and a MBA degree from a Tier I institution with more than 12 years of research and consulting experience with a good understanding of outsourcing advisory/consulting/presales and bid management experience.
Required skills and attributes :
- Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
- Good knowledge of IT/BPO industry and understanding of outsourcing advisory business.
- Good understanding of research eco-system and ability to engage with senior executives within and outside the organization.
- In-depth understanding of technology eco-system and how it is driving changes in the IT services and outsourcing business. Strong familiarity with the IT/BPO service providers and indepth understanding of IT/BPO managed services business - Bid Management, pricing models etc.
- Strong communication skills with prior experience of speaking at events or forums.
- Hands on professional with extensive experience of using research methodologies and familiarity with databases. Experience in producing research reports with good experience of both primary and secondary research techniques.
- Familiarity and experience in benchmarking, go-to-market assessments,
- Strong process orientation and project management experience and of managing sizable research or consulting teams.
- Demonstrated ability to grow and expand the business.
- Prior experience of presales activities like proposal creation etc.
- Ability to work with ambiguity in an unstructured environment with ability to multi-task.
- Ability to connect with team members (junior and senior) and experience of providing mentorship and guidance on both work related and professional front.
