Director - Quality, Safety and Training
Job Description :
Driving Continuous Improvement Culture :
- Redesign processes based on best practices to align with organizational goals and industry standards.
- Stay updated with the latest process excellence methodologies and industry trends to bring new insights and innovations.
- Conduct regular progress reviews to monitor the success of implemented changes, adjusting strategies as necessary.
- Promote employee engagement in process improvement efforts and ensure adherence to continuous improvement strategies.
- Lead initiatives like Andon Cord, Gemba Walks, and Poka-Yoke to enhance operational excellence and prevent errors.
Training Program Development :
- Design and implement comprehensive training programs for new hires and existing employees tailored to PODS operations.
- Develop training materials (manuals, videos, and interactive modules) to ensure effective learning and process understanding.
- Customize training programs to meet the specific needs of various units or regions.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring they are well-versed in food safety, hygiene, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize new hires with company culture and operational expectations.
Performance Monitoring and Compliance :
- Track the performance of PODS staff post-training and assess the effectiveness of training programs.
- Work with pod managers to identify areas requiring additional training and implement feedback mechanisms to improve programs.
- Ensure all training programs comply with local health, safety, and food safety regulations.
- Conduct audits to verify that training is applied properly in day-to-day operations and maintain high standards of safety and hygiene.
Quality & Safety - Design Systems and Drive Change :
- Ensure statutory and legal compliance across all PODS.
- Monitor consumer complaint trends, work with cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
- Oversee the procurement, inspection, and monitoring of raw materials, semi-processed foods, and outsourced products.
Quality & Safety - Design Systems and Drive Change:
- Plan and coordinate monthly audits, ensuring adherence to statutory requirements, and establish SOPs for periodic checks.
- Follow up on non-conformities closure post-audits with operations and maintenance teams.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to design customized audit templates for quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Liaise with external parties for compliance and safety testing.
- Contribute to organizing safety, sustainability newsletters, awareness campaigns, and workshops across the organization.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the smooth adoption of process improvements and training initiatives.
People Management:
- Build, lead, and develop a competent team across India, setting clear role deliverables, targets, and timelines.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing support, and ensure team alignment with organizational goals.
- Foster a high-performance culture by empowering team members, encouraging continuous development, and providing necessary training and resources.
