Post graduate degree in rural development planning and management or MBA/ MSW/MPH, 15+ years- of management experience of running large programs, in India and/or internationally. Experience in Health and Nutrition or other thematic areas shall be an added advantage.

Job Purpose

- To oversee the design and implementation of an ambitious portfolio of high-quality and well-managed programmes across India

- Make a leading contribution to the overall strategy and organizational development

- Respond quickly and at scale to all major emergencies in India

Main Responsibilities :

Following are the major responsibilities but will not be limiting to :

1. Strategy development and implementation

2. Programme Management

3. Grants Management and Donor Relations

4. Advocacy, Campaigns and Communications

5. Grant Mgmt, Marketing and Fundraising

- Ensure that all new programmes are in line with Organisation's strategy,

- Contribute to the shaping of detailed strategies and position papers for main thematic areas of Child protection, education, child survival and DRR / Emergencies

- Oversee the implementation of programmes by state teams

- Offer guidance, mentoring and structured training opportunities in order to improve programme management skills and performance across the organization

- Respond quickly and at scale to all major new emergencies in India,

- Lead emergency preparedness work across the organization, ensuring that all state teams, and other departments, are ready to work quickly and efficiently together in the event of a new emergency

- Ensure significant grant-led growth maximizing both national and international funding opportunities

- Lead on key donor relationships in-country as agreed

- Ensure that all major grants are well managed and reported, attaining their objectives, and implemented within agreed budgets and time frames

- Work with the Finance Department for solid foundation of professional and clear financial management and monitoring systems

- Maximize the positive impact on programmes of our National Managers, by ensuring their involvement in all key stages of the project cycle (concept design, proposal development, trainings and support visits, reports and evaluations etc)

- Ensure date state-level advocacy and communication / media plans

Competencies

Experience and/or understanding of child rights programming, including impact monitoring and involving children in program work

An in depth understanding of national and international development issues in particular in relation to children

Substantial experience and knowledge of effective financial and budgetary control, project management, and securing and managing grants

Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically

Previous experience of managing and developing a team and the ability to lead, motivate and develop others

Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
