Global Operations is a shared services function supporting Wealth Management and the Investment Bank divisions. The function aspires to be a best in class Operations function, meeting and exceeding the highest standards across the full range of operational services including client service, settlements, control and regulatory requirements. In addition, there is an ambitious strategic agenda, requiring new business and change program operational support.
The India Operations Manager role requires the provision of services for our three entities.
Key responsibilities include:
Be responsible for the effective oversight of all Operations activities, ensuring that all client service, control, regulatory and jurisdictional issues are appropriately monitored, escalated and any issues resolved on a timely basis.
As the Manager, represent Operations at internal management meetings and external forums and be fully aware of (and take local accountability for) all activities undertaken within Operations which impact in-scope legal entities, or businesses within the location.
Ensure qualified, competent staff are hired, retained and rewarded in the location, and are being utilized to their optimum.

Key deliveries in the role include:
Local management and issue escalation for India Operations Staff, including operational capacity, human capital, performance and risk measures.
Acting as the visible leader and role model for the Operations function, including developing and supporting talent.
Pro-actively partnering, both with the Business and Shared Services teams to ensure efficient and effective use of resources and skills.
Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of day-to-day operations and site infrastructure.
Providing input into New Business and initiatives.
Delivering regulatory compliance and meeting expectations of the Operations function as a second line of defense.
To perform this roles successfully an individual must be capable of managing both strategic change agendas, whilst also managing and delivering day to day regulatory and control compliance.
Key Skills and Experience Required :
15 Years experienced Banking Operations knowledge and understanding essential.
Required to represent Mumbai Bank Branch at RBI, CCIL, FIMMDA forums.
Good people management, teamwork, interpersonal, influencing and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to innovate, deliver and drive change.
Ability to face off to senior leadership.
Ability to drive change and focus on continuous process improvement.
Control and regulatory experience.
Strong control and risk focus.
Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Ability to Travel.
