Director - Operational Data Store - BFS

Our client is a transatlantic consumer, corporate and investment bank offering products and services across personal, corporate and investment banking, credit cards and wealth management, with a strong presence in UK and the US. Their goal is to become the bank of choice by providing superior services to customers and clients and supporting stakeholders via a commercially successful business that generates long-term sustainable returns.

ODS is Operational Data Store and it is scalable data cache with real-time data streams being fed via various integration patterns from core banking products like branch accounting, credit cards, mortgages, lending platforms to name a few allowing resilience and lower cost of servicing to customers.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

- Extremely knowledgeable and skilled at the practice of data driven ETL, MI, Analytics and ML solution, and be able to define and lead visionary customer experiences that put Barclays at the pinnacle of customer focused design practices.

- Act as interface between business and platform

- Supports various teams including developers and testers at each stage of SDLC including assuring design is well understood and developed product is in line with the solution.

- Commission research and apply existing knowledge, data, analytics and research to ensure the work is customer-centric and focused on our customers- needs

- Innovate frequently to keep the Design team at the forefront of the solution design, synthesizing the latest thinking and applying it.

- Working with the relevant Technology and Change Programme Directors/Managers, Lead Solutions Architect, and Enterprise Architects - responsible for ensuring that the outcomes delivered by projects are consistent with the original solution

- Support the development of systems strategies and roadmaps for the supported business area

To qualify for this position will require:

- Solid understanding of ETL, MI, Warehouse, Machine learning technologies and solution

- Data driven thinking, a passion for data and clear understanding of the value this can hold to a commercial business

- Proficiency/good understanding in at least couple of the following: Ab Initio, Teradata, Hadoop, MongoDB, API domain, Machine Learning algorithms

- Excellent understanding of mobile and web technologies and experience in developing APIs at scale in the previous work.
