Director Engineering - Mechanical

LOCATION : Navi Mumbai

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Deliver products : To lead and manage a team of engineers that meets the company's goals and objectives-deliver products with best possible quality, within budget and on agreed schedule.

- Strong engineering discipline : To build and mature a sustainable top-class engineering organization that strives to deliver global best engineering outcomes in an Aligned, Empowered and Ownership driven culture.

- Mature engineering practices : To drive the strategic direction of our products & services considering customer feedback and emerging technologies; steer technology/process/tool choices for continuously improving reliability, predictability and usability; to keep up-to-date with the latest product development methodologies; establish practices to deliver products that are consistently error free, maintainable and reusable.

- Learning Growth : Establish and nurture a learning driven growth culture for enabling own growth as well as growth for the team members as well as the organization.

- Performance improvements demonstrated through various learning strategies are encouraged.

Technology Domain : (Hardware)

- Industrial robotics

- Multi-degree actuated and stabilized products like gimballed stabilized platforms(gimballed cameras, camera tracking systems)

- Rugged compact electro-mechanical hardware like rugged mobile and tablet hardware design.

- Compact electro-mechanical systems like compact printers, actuated lens assemblies.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE :

Essential :

- Strong technical leader with very strong academic and industry experience. Preferred from top institutions.

- Hands-on leader with the ability to lead and develop a team of technically strong members and with the ability to provide sound technical direction to the team.

- Has a track-record of delivering industry recognized successful products, as an individual and as a team leader.

- Has a track-record of building industry best mechanical systems teams and leading from the front, interacting with Business Management, Field Leaders and demanding Customers.

- Worked in an Indian or global company that delivers high quality products integrating mechanical hardware with software and/or embedded electronic hardware systems.

- Has demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional project teams.

- Has deep appreciation for technology evolution and modern engineering practices, quality assurance, testing, configuration & release management, defect management, and associated tools, deployed in world-class engineering product creation processes.

- Can actively contribute to problem-solving, triaging and resolving defects with engineers in the team.

- Is willing to coach/mentor upcoming leaders in engineering function.

- Aligned with the values and vision of the company - 'IF'

- Leadership role profiles from Premium Institutes with no frequent job changes would be shortlisted.
