Key Accountabilities:

Product knowledge across multiple Lending journeys within Corporate and Investment Bank -

1. Influential leader in IB Loans function with a focus on Biltaeral Lending, Syndicated deals, agency led deals across multiple stakeholder group in Banking, Markets and Corporate Bank front office teams.

2. End to End Post Sanction Fulfilment and Security Collateral Management - effectively as well as efficiently.

Leadership:

1. Lead a world class acquiring and support team providing inspirational leadership in line with Barclays Group values within and outside of own function.

2. Accountable for leading, directing and developing the respective operations functions

3. Create an environment that encourages employee retention, promotes high levels of employee engagement and ensures continuous improvements in employee satisfaction

Stakeholder Management and Leadership

- The role involves working with multiple business clusters within Corporate Banking i.e., Coverage, Infrastructure and Risk.

- There is a constant engagement with multiple stakeholders across multiple business verticals, building and maintaining relationships with BU leaders.

- An important content of the job is to partner with other leaders to maintain a global view of post sanctioning support talent.

- Continuously work with business partners across the bank to build and maintain a world class pre & post lending capability that delivers high quality decisioning tools for use by the businesses in client acquisition, lending decisions and reducing impairments

- The teams are spread across 2 different sites supporting multiple geographies i.e., UK and Ireland

Decision-making and Problem Solving

1. Act as a strategic business partner to the established coverage and lending & security teams; driving out best practice and opportunities for increase wallet share and reduced impairments by maintaining top quality lending support

2. Act as an essential part of the appropriate local and global coverage, lending & security and risk committees that shape and drive decision-making pertaining to medium and long-term improvements, understand the big-picture and work towards resolution of firm-wide issues across business and geographical boundaries

Risk and Control Objective

- Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Person Specification

1. Qualified accountant/MBA with over 15+ years of experience, preferably 5-7 year relevant experience in leading a function of 100 plus people in financial services institution (corporate or investment banking/consulting), especially, in Corporate Lending, IB Loan, Loan IQ, Corporate Lending, Asset Finance, Syndicated Loan and Bilateral Loans.

2. Strong Leadership skills with an ability to manage teams to achieve common goal whilst managing differing grades across multiple sites. Excellent oral and written communication. Ability to coach and develop teams, Collaborative approach and good stakeholder management, Target-oriented. Ability to deliver project within agreed timelines and budgets. Should be able to address complex situation by way of gathering relevant information and decision making

3. Keen analytical skills

4. A strong control awareness, including an understanding of the key controls required in a corporate bank

5. Outstanding leadership qualities and exceptional people management skills.
