Director - Legal

We are hiring for a Director Legal for a Leading Property Consulting Company.

Responsibilities:

- Provide strategic advice on diverse matters such as M&As, Structured transactions, contracts & documentation, regulatory matters & litigation.

- Work includes drafting and negotiating contracts, pleadings, affidavits, notices, Legal opinions, legal due diligence reports etc.

- Assist in review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures including assisting in aspects of commercial negotiations.

- Assist in coordination & strategy discussions with attorneys in various countries for new and ongoing projects and deals, cost impact, coordinating with external counsels and rendering legal opinions on varied legal and commercial matters etc.

- Assist in preparing repository for existing legal documentation.

- Advisory to various business line / departments of the Company on legal issues.

- Assist the India General Counsel on various legal advisory work as may be assigned and lead a team of attorneys.

- Manage deadlines for both internal and external clients.

- Must be willing to travel domestically as per business needs

Requirements:

- Looking at someone with Strategic thoughts and stakeholder management ability with demonstrated experience in Legal Tech, Project Management and Contracting.

- 12+ years of PQE experience post LL. B/JD & admitted to practice Law in India.

- Awareness of the corporate laws, commercial transactions, regulatory and litigation related to Real Estate industry and/or ancillary domains like IT, Management Consulting, financial services etc.

- Excellent Knowledge of English and good oral/written communication skills. Working knowledge in written and spoken South Indian languages.

- Should have had exposure to international contracts drafting and negotiations with overseas clients including use of legal technologies.

- Should have led a team of legal & compliance professionals in a Top -notch law firm in India or a MNC legal department.

- Should grasps basic legal knowledge and concepts.

- Reading and interpreting Legislation/Statutes/Regulations under various Legislations.

- Aware of basic formats of legal documentation or legal write-up.

- Speed in responding to queries.

- Well conversant with basic IT tools and software (MS Office).

- Aptitude for smart work with hard work with ability to interact with business leaders and domain experts.

- Good research skills.

- Adaptable and willingness to learn and seek guidance to resolve business situations / circumstances.

- Excellent communication skills (written & spoken).
