The Director IT provides local IT leadership for the facility and acts as the IT business partner to the RBC Executive Finance leadership. This role will partner with the Finance customer (s) and the broader IT organization to achieve operational excellence for the business center.


This role requires strong senior relationships with Finance leadership and key staff members to clearly understand the overall business objectives and functional requirements in the process domain area of order to cash.


This position must be able to work across organizational boundaries to ensure IT service are maintained and continuously improved. This role will provide leadership oversight and direction to several direct & indirect IT roles. The position is expected to provide active thought leadership to the organization in order to advance innovation and competitive advantage for our customers.

Primary Duties :

- You will manage the day-to-day activities of the global Business Center IT functions, including budgets, staffing, administration, planning, etc.

- Build business relationships and establish an ongoing engagement model

- Align strategic and tactical business objectives with corresponding IT objectives

- Facilitate business-oriented IT performance reviews for the outcomes of IT services delivered to business stakeholders (examples: Network, Application Support, Solution Delivery) through the centrally managed, leveraged, enterprise IT organizations

- Formulate synthesized business capability and technology advancement strategies and long-term roadmaps

- Provide insights and thought-leadership on industry/functional trends and best practices to guide business priorities, customer and employee experience advancements, and technology decisions

- Create and process IT investment proposals collaborating with business stakeholders, PMO, and IT Delivery colleagues to define scope, ROI, risks & mitigations, major components of work, staffing requirements, and financial needs

- Participate in IT strategy creation, including alignment with Enterprise and Business Unit strategies

- Support business continuity and disaster recovery efforts, including creation of business impact analyses

- Establish / maintain application profiles and contribute to the strategic application roadmaps for the center

- Develop & steward change governance processes with business partners and the broader IT delivery organizations

- Partner and engage with the business leaders to ensure they can incorporate and exploit advanced IT solutions into their business strategies

- Provide oversight and advocate for the local IT operations, reaching across the broader IT organization to address business requests and / or support escalations

- Develop IT relevant KPI's and monthly operational reporting

- Develop IT staff to deliver consistent quality of services

- Work with various IT partners (Peer RBC IT groups, GI, Security, Applications, PMO) to ensure collaboration across all groups to deliver high class service to the business

- Able to effectively influence key stakeholders, team members, and peers not in direct control to architect, design and deliver optimal solutions in line with the best interest and expectations of the business

- Provide technical leadership and vision, mentoring, coaching, and career development to team members

- Continually evaluate evolving technologies and process best practices relevant to Finance business objectives

Job Specifications :

- Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or related discipline. Master's degree/ Professional Qualification will be preferred.

- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT Finance or related field

- 3+ years' experience in business customer -facing or non-IT Finance related business role

- Previous experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement in order to cash process domain

- Prior experience with implementing and / or supporting ERP order to cash processes

- Demonstrated experience working in a highly matrixed organization and partnering to achieve exceptional business outcomes

- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize tasks

- Ability to partner with both business stakeholders and senior IT leaders

- Advocate for change, drive process improvement, communicate strategies, and champion adoption to achieve desired results

- Prior experience managing financial or related operational teams

- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-caliber workforce

- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across cultures, regions, and geographies; able to travel 5 - 10%
