Position Overview :

- The Director - Investment Banking (Sell Side) will play a key role in driving the investment banking business, with a specific focus on the tech sector, working closely with the sector head to shape the firm's investment thesis in Consumer Tech and related sub-sectors.

- This senior leadership role involves managing sell-side transactions, building relationships with tech founders and investors, and developing and executing deal strategies to raise capital for high-growth companies.

- The Director will also represent the firm at key industry events and collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Advisory & Deal Execution:

- Lead Sell-Side Transactions: Manage and oversee all stages of sell-side M&A transactions, from initial pitch through to successful deal closure.

- This includes strategic advisory, deal structuring, and negotiation of terms.

- Investment Thesis Development: Collaborate with the sector head to shape and refine the fund's investment thesis in Consumer Tech, exploring key trends, growth drivers, and investment opportunities within the technology sector in India.

- Market Insights & Analysis: Provide expert insight into the India tech market, focusing on evolving -trends, competitive landscape, and sector-specific dynamics (e. , SaaS, FinTech, EdTech, etc.

- Analyze data and industry reports to identify new investment opportunities.

- Deal Sourcing & Origination: Proactively source new deals and opportunities by leveraging industry networks, relationships with tech founders, and discussions with potential investors.

Networking & Relationship Building:

- Build and Maintain Key Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including founders, C-suite executives, investors, private equity firms, venture capitalists, and other potential buyers.

- Engage with Technology Founders: Understand the needs and goals of tech founders, advising them on strategic options and guiding them through the process of raising capital, including mergers, acquisitions, or private placements.

- Investor Relations: Build and nurture relationships with current and potential investors, ensuring the firm's growth and deal flow aligns with investor expectations and market conditions.

Thought Leadership & Brand Representation:

- Industry Events & Conferences: Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and webinars, establishing the firm's position as a thought leader in the tech and investment banking sectors.

- LP Discussions: Work closely with leadership to participate in discussions with Limited Partners (LPs) and help articulate the firm's investment strategy and vision for the future.

- Market Intelligence: Provide thought leadership in areas of market trends, emerging technologies, and sector-specific regulatory changes.

- Actively contribute to internal publications and research.

Team Collaboration and Leadership:

- Work with Internal Teams: Collaborate with other teams (e. , research, capital raising, legal, and operations) to ensure smooth execution of deals, from sourcing to closing.

- Mentorship and Team Leadership: Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on deal execution, client management, and business development, while fostering a collaborative environment.

Corporate Strategy & Business Development:

- Internal Strategy: Work closely with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to contribute to the firm's broader business development strategy, helping to define growth objectives and priorities within the tech sector.

- Cross-Sector Synergies: Identify potential synergies with other industry sectors, leveraging relationships and market intelligence to source cross-industry deals.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of Investment Banking experience, with a strong focus on deal making in the technology sector (Consumer Tech, SaaS, FinTech, EdTech, etc.

- Previous experience in sell-side advisory is a must.

- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree from a reputed institution is highly preferred.

Skills & Expertise:

- Deal Execution: Proven track record in executing sell-side M&A transactions, with expertise in deal structuring, negotiations, and managing all phases of deal lifecycles.

- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the tech sector and key sub-sectors, including emerging trends, growth drivers, competitive analysis, and regulatory frameworks.

- Networking & Relationship Building: Exceptional ability to network, build, and maintain relationships with high-level decision-makers (founders, investors, C-level executives) and potential buyers.

- Leadership & Team Management: Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to guide a team of analysts and associates while driving business development efforts.

- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations, pitch ideas, and interact with clients and stakeholders in a professional manner.

- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify opportunities in a complex market landscape and propose actionable solutions.

Preferred Skills:

- Fundraising Experience: Prior experience in raising capital (equity, debt, or private placements) for high-growth tech companies or advising tech founders on capital raising strategies is a plus.

- Regional Knowledge: Familiarity with the Indian market and its unique challenges, including knowledge of the venture capital and private equity landscape in India
