Director International Education
- The employer is a State Government trade and investment promotion agency of a G20 country.
- The job holder promotes, and advances the interests, across South Asia, of the State's international education, training, and research sectors, as part of its broader trade and investment strategy.
- The holder delivers in-market events and engagements; and fosters commercial outcomes and bilateral engagements with South Asian businesses, governments, and institutions.
- They are looking to hire a Director for the International Education portfolio to drive recruitment activity as well as facilitate new education and training collaborations across India and neighbouring South Asian countries.
- This role will be based out of their regional office in Mumbai.
- Lead engagement with in-market stakeholders and constantly develop new contacts and networks across education and other sectors in South Asia to facilitate education and training and other exports and investment.
- Advise on strategy development to attract international students, develop commercial partnerships, and promote education and training-related investment and export.
- Develop and deliver an in-market communication and engagement strategy, including developing content and managing digital and social media campaigns.
- Plan, coordinate and implement international education activities such as face-to-face and digital exhibitions, international education hub set-ups, agent and prospective student briefings and in- and out-bound market visits.
- Deliver services to clients, such as attending pre-departure briefings, providing on-the-ground support to visiting delegations, ensuring local exhibition arrangements are in place, arranging and participating in meetings and networking functions and undertaking follow-up.
- Provide data and strategic advice to State education and training and other industry representatives seeking to develop business relationships and strategic alliances with local businesses and government agencies to facilitate greater trade and investment.
- Manage and facilitate, with the support of in-market colleagues, inbound visits by State Ministers, VIPs and industry sector experts, and outbound visits by delegations of key in-market representatives.
- Manage changing workloads with flexibility and efficiency while balancing responsibility for education, research and other industry portfolios and a large number of clients.
- Apply State Government business practices and maintain accuracy of information in business systems to deliver accurate and timely reporting and relationship management whilst upholding the Code of Conduct.
- Excellent cross-cultural, interpersonal and communication skills are essential as the candidate will be working across multiple geographies.
- Ability to work strategically, leveraging well-developed commercial acumen to achieve outcomes is crucial.
- An understanding of and experience with government processes.
- Exposure to social media technology and platforms will be well regarded.
- The candidate must be outcome oriented, exhibit attention to detail along with strong desire to follow through a task to completion.
- Integrity and transparency is a must.
