About Company

Our client is a leading global co-educational day and boarding school for ages 2-18 having it's first campus in India based out of Pune. The school will follow the English National Curriculum and IGCSEs with students progressing to the IB Diploma Programme offering unparalleled excellence in sports, music, and the arts.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic oversight

- Develop group IT operations strategy, partner with the executive team to develop and maintain an IT enhancement roadmap.

- Lead the development of departmental goals, objectives and action planning, and implementation systems to ensure goals are attained.

- Manage IT operations, the optimization of existing IT services and the implementation of new services, programs and/or processes for continuous improvement in IT functionality and learner or staff experience.

- Establish departmental performance metrics that support the accomplishment of the Group's strategic goals

- Support the Group finance committees in establishing budgets for IT provision for schools and the Central Office

2. Team management

- Effectively lead and support school-based teams in attaining the vision for IT provision

- Support school teams to develop effective planning systems to support policy implementation

- Establish clear roles and responsibilities for individuals in school-based IT teams

- Ensure all IT policies are effectively implemented by teams at school level including the effective application of monitoring strategies

- Provide line management to the database manager and school-based IT coordinators.

- Ensure school-based teams have the capacity to fulfill their roles, including overseeing and delivering necessary training

- Support the appraisal of IT team

- Assist in recruitment of suitable staff to school-based IT teams and in identifying opportunities for training and development.

3. Data storage, information access and information sharing

- Oversee the development and functionality of the data management systems.

- Support the work of the school teams to ensure that data storage systems effectively meet the needs of schools

- Work closely with the school teams to ensure the design of the systems meets required functionality

- Lead, monitor and coordinate the use of data management systems across the school. Evaluate efficiency and efficacy to inform strategic planning.

- Lead and oversee training for all staff in relation to usage of data storage systems

- Oversee and optimise systems for collating and sharing of information and data; for instance through Sharepoint

- Lead the work of the Sharepoint manager to ensure that systems are structured and access managed to ensure efficient and effective sharing of information to support learning directly and indirectly

- Engage school teams in shaping data sharing systems to meet functionality

- Provide the group with strategic development of future data sharing systems

- Oversee the development of systems for network development and collaboration within the school

- Lead on establishing structures for information sharing and video conferencing to promote efficient and effective collaboration across schools to promote

- Develop and monitor the implementation of policies and guidance around information sharing across the group

- Record keeping of all target setting and appraisal documents.

4. Student learning, Staff training, resources maintenance and upgrading

- Support school-based teams on planning for sufficient and appropriate IT resources to meet the learning needs of students and allow efficient and effective access to the educational programmes they experience.

- Ensure school-based teams receive the necessary training so that teaching staff can make efficient and effective use of the ICT resources available

- Support school-based teams in identifying appropriate IT provision to meet the learning needs of students and the curriculum they study. Oversee implementation and training by school-based IT teams.

- Lead on the evaluation on the usage of the IT learning resources used in order to inform strategic planning for IT across the group.

- Lead on auditing the relative impact on learning of the range of ICT resources provided to the school

- Provide feedback to school SLT and the Board regarding the relative efficacy of the ICT resources available across the school

- Oversee training needs audit across schools and support school-based IT teams in implementing the relevant and planned training programme for academic and non-academic staff

- Set clear targets and carry out effective performance appraisals for Central Office IT team with a focus on continuous improvement and personal and professional development

- Evaluate the quality of IT related training for staff

- Oversee the maintenance and support systems across schools and evaluate efficiency and efficacy

- Lead on monitoring the quality and status of IT resources across the schools so that upgrading can be planned and budgeted

Requirement:

- Graduate (MCA), With Certifications CCNA, MCSE, MCSA, MCDBA, MCP etc.

- Work experience for an International School

- 10 years and above of relevant experience

- Broad knowledge and experience in key modules of IT and leading IT-related teams, ideally within an educational context

- Experience of leading multiple projects

- Strong knowledge of education industry preferred

- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with the executive team and Board of Directors, ability to present analysis, proposals and strategies to the leadership.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven ability to communicate effectively with different types of people and in cross-culture environment

- Strong passion for the education industry

- Strong track record of solving complex problems, strategic thinking and delivering significant impact as a leader.

- The role demands a multitasker who can effortlessly liaise with all the other teams, efficiently manage the roles and duties within the team, and finally get the job done well in time.

- Sources and listens to all points of view and respects differing opinions when developing solutions. Should be very organized, process driven and a team player.
