Role Description :

- The Head of Technology will be responsible for running the engineering organization, and working closely with business and other stakeholders across the company.

- The chosen candidate will have core engineering experience; have a successful history of product development using latest open source technologies with great technical architecture and scalability.

- The Company uses Magento at present, but plans to use LAMP stack and other Open Source technologies.

- The candidate needs to have very high levels of curiosity to leverage the open source ecosystem to the maximum to deliver great user experience. This curiosity should be backed by personal time commitment to keep oneself updated on emerging third party APIs, open source tools, platforms and leverage them to create differentiated user experiences.

- Finally, Head Technology is key member of the management team of the organization and should be a person who constantly challenges status quo, challenges team and peers in delivering to the best potential.

Key Responsibilities :

- Set the vision and mission for the 5-8 member technology team, instill the right mindset and shared vision for great teamwork.

- Own the full life-cycle development process from product definition, through design, development, test, release and maintenance

- Help the organization track interesting trends on emerging technologies and the broader Internet domain that are relevant to Oven-fresh business and take advantage of such technology trends.

- Leverage in depth technology skills and experience in delivering complex software products and put in place the right processes and environment for the teams to work in.

- Use sophisticated means to track and deliver software on schedule by minimizing risk, tracking dependencies, proactive planning and efficient communication with the extended teams.

- Use robust software product development methodologies, SDLC to make rapid progress and at the same time apply rigor to ensure high quality and results

- Investigate and apply the latest technologies and tools including open source tools and platforms, web services and open interfaces, service oriented architectures to build software that is state-of-the-art.

- Leverage cutting-edge technologies to produce high quality platform and front-end apps, including Android and iOS apps.

- Will need to make use of their strong knowledge of data and consumer Analytics to streamline the process for a smooth user experience.

Requirements :

- B.E/MS in Computer Science or equivalent, preferably from a premier institute.

- At least 5 years working in the online domain in a senior technology role

- At least 2 years experience leading a technology team of some significance

- Experience working in or with start-ups

- Experience getting online products to market

- A great knowledge and feel for consumer Internet products, including the latest technologies

- Strong experience with open-source technologies

- Ability to multi-task and switch gears easily

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to understand business needs and translate for technology team

- Ability to recruit technologists
