Reports To:- CFO/Finance Director
The Head of GST will be responsible for overseeing all Goods and Services Tax (GST) related activities within the organization. This role involves ensuring compliance with GST laws, managing GST filings, and providing strategic advice on GST matters to optimize tax efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in GST management, particularly within the food manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- GST Compliance:- Ensure the company complies with all GST regulations and stays updated with any changes in tax laws.
- GST Filings:- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all GST returns.
- Audit Management:- Handle GST audits and assessments, providing necessary documentation and clarifications.
- Record Maintenance:- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all GST-related transactions.
- Strategic Planning:- Provide strategic advice on GST matters to optimize tax efficiency and minimize liabilities.
- Training and Development:- Train and mentor the finance team on GST-related matters.
- Coordination:- Work closely with internal departments and external auditors to ensure smooth GST operations.
- Reporting:- Prepare monthly and quarterly GST reports for management review.
- Issue Resolution:- Address and resolve any GST-related issues or queries from various departments.
Requirements:
- Education:- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification in taxation is preferred.
- Experience:- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in GST management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within the food manufacturing industry.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of GST laws, rules, and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Preferred Qualifications:-
- CA or equivalent
- Experience in the food manufacturing sector.
- Certifications in GST or related fields.
- Proven track record of managing GST audits and assessments.
