Director/GM/AVP - Senior Product Manager - Digital Media
Desired Competencies :
- Good product intelligence, should be able to quickly make assumptions and generate back-of-the-envelope estimates
- Ability to relate to engineers and get a grasp of the technical details driving the product
- Ability to envision a product concept and successfully communicating the envisioned product concept using presentation and white boarding skills.
- Strong business acumen, in terms of product launch, position, strategy and features.
- Should be willing to help create a start-up culture inside a large company, using agile methodologies, customer feedback, and data, to drive the creation of India's most compelling suite of news products
Responsibilities :
- Manage the development and deployment of products across the Hindustan Times Digital portfolio.
- Build and maintain product roadmaps, requirements, and user flows
- Put the user at the centre of our universe.
- Manage new features from specification to final release and ongoing iteration.
- Work with the business and editorial teams to build and implement audience and revenue strategies
- Work with the editorial and business teams to ensure that technical solutions mesh tightly with the content and revenue strategy, and that UX/UI choices are optimal.
- Rely strongly on data analytics and experimentation (AB Testing) to make product decisions and build companywide consensus on new developments.
Functional Skills :
- Experience in internet, media, e-commerce, and social or community.
- 6 -8 years of product experience, overall 10-15 years of professional experience
- A news background is not necessary, but a strong understanding and appreciation of content is critical.
- Consistent experience as a Product Manager in designing & developing UIs & tools & prioritizing product roadmaps
- Product Experience with enterprise systems or other systems with business logic
- Team management experience is mandatory
